The world has a funny way of trying to feature those things that outdoor people do such as going to the zoo or to outdoor places around the world and people have a fascination with wild animals. Some wild animals have destroyed automobiles and killed people while visiting these outdoor extravagant habitats of man. Recently it came up about bears and how they ate a woman and a man alive. The same was reported about a shark that ate a woman alive and there was nothing left at her at all not even her torso. The family was told she's gone. So in search of bears and their demeanor and they are dangerous for sure I came across the scripture in 2 kings 2:23 to 24. I did read that a man did not agree with the King James Bible and so he used another version to come up with a story/conclusion/explanation that is more acceptable. You know sometimes we can't accept that what we can't accept. You have to be extremely careful with other versions because God's word in the King James Bible is precise. I believe Elisha him was bald and was made fun of by little children . So let's take a good look at this and I want you to know that when I was pondering this in my spirit I was made aware of John 10:10.
2 Kings 2:23-24
King James Version
23 And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.
24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.
Now the man that I read an article said that two she bears are small and probably cannot kill 42 children who were determined to overtake the bears. What does that tell us? They tried to subdue the bears but they were not successful. I want to stress this is the Old Testament. But I'm going to take a very good look at this myself and then continue.
Now if we go back a chapter to 1 Kings 22:51-52 what do we learn? Ahaziah King of Israel 52 he did evil in the eyes of the LORD, because he followed the ways of his father and mother and of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who caused Israel to sin. 53 He served and worshiped Baal and aroused the anger of the LORD , the God of Israel, just as his father had done.
So prior to this verse you have evil going on and an Angel messenger of the Lord is sent and a message is sent to the king of Samaria. It's not because Israel does not have a God it's because they inquire of their god baalzebub. So it appears that God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is not too happy/pleased with what has been going on. There is a reason I set this up.
Now Elijah was going to ascend into heaven it's true and they were going to lose him. But Elisha went forth. Please remember he was given a double portion of of the spirit of Elijah. " And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me ." So in essence he was anointed. So yes it is little children that mocked him.
And two she bears came out of the woods and tare 42 of them. It doesn't say if they were all killed but I would believe some of them were injured even killed. Then there was the rebellion too the king of Israel. That is later on in the chapter. I wasn't trying to get into a complete study on this chapter. My point is the fear the Lord and live and make sure you are not worshiping and serving baal.
Dangers of worshiping Baal
