I had a similar experience (raised non-Christian) as Jon.
"I was an atheist doing my PhD in a very atheist, social justice environment. I was obsessed with finding truth (the university is the last place on earth to find truth these days), and wanted to find evidence for God. I started reading the bible and praying, but I didn't believe. During this period, I was a passenger in a vehicle that flipped across the highway into oncoming traffic. While the vehicle was flipping, I heard a voice that told me everything would be ok. This seemed bizarre. Moreover, the only injuries I have is ongoing neck and back pain, but I do live a normal life for the most part. Afterwards, I started reading the bible more seriously and took out books on how historians determine historical truth. I then started reading into the resurrection of Jesus. I found many ancient sources, both Christian and non-Christian that provided evidence for the resurrection. I also read Dr. Gary Habermas and others who were experts in the field. After many, many months I finally determined that Jesus did indeed rise from the dead."
"I have also come to the conclusion that sin best describes the fundamental conundrum of morality. I've also seriously thought about the meaning of life and why live at all if God doesn't exist. I mean this seriously: why would anything matter at all if God didn't exist? Why would it even matter if I killed myself if there isn't a God: everyone and everything I care about will no longer exist in a matter of decades anyways. I have since come to the conclusion that nothing matters apart from Jesus Christ."
"Since I've believed in Jesus, my whole life changed. I no longer care about status, being right, or money - things that were very important to my identity before. I no longer want vengeance for people who hurt me and I quit my porn addiction. I am very slowly dying to the world and myself: and I feel free as a result. Jesus Christ is the only thing that ultimately matters given that everything outside of him will end up in the lake of fire anyways."
Just as Isaiah 53 wrote about him many years prior to him being born on Earth it happened and the prophecies are precise and on the money. What will it profit you to gain the world in forfeit your own soul? When was the last time you picked up and I recommend a King James Bible then started reading and praying, seeking God with all your heart mind and soul?
Regarding the above testimony this is only one of thousands out there and countless I am willing to bet are not even reported.
Let me make it crystal clear to you out there if you're not a believer you live once and then comes the judgment. If you die the second death you will be thrown in a place called hell where the fire is never quenched because the wages of sin is death. I urge Christians out there to pray for people in this telecast and for her father being the host.
