KJV Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace ?
Talking about biblical Christianity Today. Why was the law taken down? Why was the law done away with? 8:08 a.m. May 5 2023
So to answer this question I could do research but off the top of my head I can make an assessment based on my experience in my understanding but I might not be 100% right. The Pharisees became stingy with deceit even arrogant and prideful which is easy to do even as a Christian. Even as a preacher or pastor this is easy to do although some people wont/be stubborn to admit it. One day I had work clothes on and I heard a guy who was with his wife and they were pushing a stroller and he guy looked at me and the guy said look at that guy he's a bum. I had work clothes on. I wasn't dressed for after work but religious people this is how they judge people. The story that can reference in scripture is the story about washing the hands where the apostles are accused of picking corn without washed hands. Mark 2:23-28 KJV Luke 11:37–54 and Matthew 23:1–39
Now I've been in church before where they talked about being careful not to become a Pharisee which is good teaching but at the same time we should not think or ponder to transgress God's laws even though we are not under the law because we are abusing the spirit of grace let alone God's mercy. You know sometimes they will teach God has so much grace and he is faithful even when we are not but we should not think to keep trampling such things especially once we have become Christians on meat we are with understanding. And there are many ways that this occurs. Well God wrote it being his laws on our hearts so it should be in our conscience. And even look what Christ said and this is New Testament 5:17 (“ Do not think that I have come to abolish Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them .”). Later on the Apostle Paul was given new doctrine. I think the Jews were so strict under the Pharisees that they could not be made free by the son of God which they had denied and rejected their own Messiah. Isaiah 53 Rather than a bunch of laws to abide by things had to be loosened so you can breathe and act naturally but not willfully and spitefully in an evil way. No I'm not getting into law specifically but here's a good paragraph and I will quote the source.
"The Law is the issue that has to be dealt with in order to bring us into a right relationship with God. "Know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified" ( Galatians 2:16 ). This passage reveals that the Law cannot justify or make righteous any man in God’s sight, which is why God sent His Son to completely fulfill the requirements of the Law for all those who would ever believe in Him."

So how do I sum this up well I can go into all the details others quote and I'll leave a couple of links below. You know on the day of judgment many people are going to claim their good works. Sometimes they are not only reprobates but they are hypocrites because they do the things that are most hateful, wicked and abominable to the living God that they claim to know which is Christ of course but in their deeds they totally deny him. So when they realize they're not going to make it into his kingdom they start pleading for their soul and they proclaim their good works. You would think wow they kept the commandments but no they did not because he doesn't recognize them. Probably they had their feet either completely in the camp of the enemy and thought they were in Christs camp or they had a foot in both camps and never left the world to serve Christ alone in faith alone. They must have some of these people at least been under another gospel and another spirit. And we have to put our faith in Jesus Christ of Nazareth alone. The Bible does not tell us we are saved by doing good works although as true Christians we know that once you are saved your works are important. The Bible says to bring good fruit forward/forth and that does not just mean what you eat and that you provide food for people but what manner of conversation do you have and what verbal evil toxic language do you spew. Many counterfeit Christians for example and I've grown up with them swear all the time and the second word in/on their tongue as they associate with other people of the world is that this "F" word and they always take the name of God in vain and deny it if they are confronted most of them. They deny it in their actions and keep doing it. If you have understanding of these things where you didn't before it was God who truly has brought you forward you know and you absolutely know it is enmity to befriend the world. John 4:4 If you are rambling on in prayer for an hour do you really expect to be heard. If you are bowing before an idol and praying to that Idol do you expect to be heard by the true and living God? If you say you're a Christian and you drink alcohol and you get tipsy and drunk do you expect God to hear you next time you pray? If you laugh when people are making dirty jokes along with them and you criticize other people gossiping at coffee shops pridefully lifting yourself up next time you pray do you expect to be heard? You see most born again Christians at least true Christians should not be doing these things. We are born again of incorruptible seed which is our new nature and when we transgress that we know we're doing it and we have to turn back. The law is still there but we are not under it as true Christians and you can't love God with all your heart mind and soul if you can't obey him. Remember Christ said unless people become like little children they will never see the kingdom of God. Now in preaching God will puke out of his mouth the lukewarm Christian, the lukewarm congregation or the lukewarm Church so this is yet another area where various people who think they're Christians or have little understanding don't understand. Preaching is preaching and there are different methods of preaching. You know sometimes people just want to hear Jesus loves you and thinking standing up with/for abominable things/groups/people is making God think you're so holy and so loving/righteous yet religion will send you to hell which is very true.
There are six things plus (1)God hates and we should remember these things. Proverbs 6:16-19 King James Version 16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him : 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
You know how many people put their hand on the Bible in court and proceed to lie including authority officials. Do you think God does not know? Of course he knows when you are not telling the truth. Forgiveness is important but it doesn't mean we are to walk with the transgressors. James 4:4 Christ was accused of : quotes scripture..
The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners !
He was accused of healing on the Sabbath. But he made known the importance of the Sabbath to his accusers and even explained it to the disciples or apostles. He said he came to serve but not to be served yet it is written the servant is not above the master and people want to hear good and faithful servant and they do serve him. His ways are not prideful or arrogant but the devils are. As it is written Psalms 34:18 - The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Give your life to him and love him as he has loved us . Matthew 11:28
