Having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.
Ye shall not add (command from God)
Christ was concerned with people keeping the doctrines and commandments of men and religious people do this even Bible believing Christian churches some of them do this. Mark 7:9 In some aspects some paganism has seeped into even in Bible believing churches but it depends what denomination you would be talking about and what they believe including doctrine. Sure there are denominations adding some other book that you must add to the Bible and this would be considered doctrines of devils/demons perhaps. Even applying the scriptures inappropriately for example praying to anybody else but God. Matthew 6:7 1 Timothy 2:5-7 I'm not going to be praying to my dog anytime soon. You see they make excuses but the people that are willing participants in such a thing are willing and obliging in spiritual fornication that is really sorcery and that makes them a necromancer. Deuteronomy 18:9 - 12 This is doctrines of devils/demons. Or knowing full well that salvation is the gift of God and it can't be earned on man's merits but you attend some religious institution that gives you a bunch of their requirements and traditions and tells you it's the only way and you must do a bunch of things to earn your salvation this is doctrine of devils/demons it would appear. John 3:16 Ephesians 2:8-9
The Bible says there's a way that appears right onto a man in the end it is the way of death. We can go on and on and even examine other doctrines that are questionable and be dumbfounded and shocked.
So say you've come out of something like that and you've come to authentic biblical Christianity that tries to stay within the parameters of the authority of scripture and then you're told if you do anything like keep the Sabbath or or any type of work you're trying to earn your salvation therefore you're called the legalist. Christ said if you love me keep my commandments. John 14:15 to 71 Is our master Christ the legalist? Matthew 5:18 On the day of judgment it's not only about people's good works but it's their lack of faith in him. They also lacked trust when they didn't abide in him. For example turning the other cheek when warranted but you have a testy mouth but you claim to be born again or committing fornication. I know there's times you're going to be contending for the faith but I'm not speaking about those times specifically. Trying to enter in with a false and fatal gospel is also doctrine of devils. 2 Corinthians 4:4-6 Galatians 1:8-9
If you're a Believer make sure you don't fall away .
Your friends call and say they're going to a bar or to some festival that has fleshy desires and you conclude Christ is not like that he loves everybody so you oblige. Are you abiding in him? The Bible tells us we are to keep ourselves unstained from the world and don't follow the rudiments nor sinful practices of the world. John 10:10 James 4:4 Colossians 2:8 James 1:27 There are other things you could be doing that are wicked as well or you could be doing service for Christ which is commendable. Look at the example you had with the people going to awake or a funeral home and he was asked a couple of times maybe three times can whomever asked go see the relatives at the wake sort of modern gesturing. He said let the dead bury their dead " but go thou and preach the kingdom of God ." It makes sense because the things we highly esteem are nothing more than an abomination to God. Remember when he went to wakes he crashed them and actually woke up the deceased person. He implied why are you crying they're only sleeping. Another teaching of demons would be mischaracterizing something and taking it out of context like eat my flesh and drink my blood. He was only offered once for the sins of the world and he paid the price in full and said it is finished . Galatians 3:13 - 15 Hebrews 9:28
Now credited to Got Question they have a good article and I just took a few paragraphs out to make my point.
"In John 6:53–57, Jesus says, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them."
Remember the Samaritan woman he said he would give her the water where she would never thirst again. He had incredible teachings that were spiritual and had profound implications. You see she will thirst again but the water he will give her she will never thirst again because it leads to eternal life.
Christ fed the 5000 and they were looking to be fed again and for healings and all sorts of things.
"This contrast between physical food and spiritual food sets the stage for Jesus’ statement that we must eat His flesh and drink His blood."
So in his teaching he emphasizes spiritual bread and spiritual faith. So anyone that looks to the son and believes in him will have eternal life but make sure you got the right guy.
"My flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Anyone who eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him. . . . Anyone who feeds on me will live because of me” (John 6:51–56, NLT)."
What gives life? Not the Flesh
"To prevent being misconstrued, Jesus specifies that He has been speaking metaphorically: “ The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing . The words I have spoken to you— they are full of the Spirit and life ” ( John 6:63 )."
"At the Last Supper, Jesus gives a similar message and one that complements His words in John 6—when the disciples gather to break bread and drink the cup, they “proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes” (1 Corinthians 11:26 ). In fact, Jesus said that the bread broken at the table is His body, and the cup they drink is the new covenant in His blood, shed for the forgiveness of sins (Matthew 26:26–28). Their act of eating and drinking was to be a symbol of their faith in Christ. Just as physical food gives earthly life, Christ’s sacrifice on the cross gives heavenly life."
"Some people believe that the bread and wine of communion are somehow transformed into Jesus’ actual flesh and blood, or that Jesus somehow imbues these substances with His real presence. These ideas, called transubstantiation (professed by the Catholic and Orthodox churches) and consubstantiation (held by Lutherans), ignore Jesus’ statement that “ the flesh counts for nothing ” (John 6:63). The majority of Protestants understand that Jesus was speaking metaphorically about His flesh and blood and hold that the bread and wine are symbolic of the spiritual bond created with Christ through faith."
So as got question emphasized in this paragraph above this is called a doctrine of devils or a doctrine of demons taking that scriptural meaning out of context. This is spiritually dangerous and can lead to eternal damnation. The Book of Matthew and Mark
So I must add after thoughts and after notes. We're not the master because the student becomes like the master but they are not the master. He said that the branch that does not abide in him gets cut off and thrown into the fire. An apostle was a devil remember that. Apostle Paul finished the good fight of faith. The Bible tells us we must be studied and show ourselves approved. And the other thing I'll remind you God says there is none that does good and not understand and all have become unprofitable going astray. It is also written the things men highly esteem is abomination on to God and also the fool has said in their heart there is no God.
