Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
" And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments. " It's a choice and sin starts in the mind and when it is finished with you it brings forth death.
If you love me keep my commandments. We're not under the law. We are under grace and you are saved by grace through faith and not by our own efforts. Ephesians 2:8-9 Actually that no man shall boast. Paul the Apostle said he catches himself doing things that he knows he shouldn't be doing. The Ephesians or other groups maybe Galatians did things they shouldn't have been doing. Only the lord GOD is perfect. Do we really do what is in scripture that he taught or commanded. I could hear many different brothers even listen to sister's testimonies but I don't know in their private time/life what they do as opposed to what they say. It is virtually impossible to serve two masters and you can study that till the cows come home and not understand it. You must renew your mind but there's going to be times you find your mind going to places it shouldn't go. Not necessarily to fornication with strangers but even with your partner that you should be one with God. You know holy matrimony which is very important. You know the Bible says two very important things that God's thoughts are above us and his ways are above us too and it also tells us that few are there that find the narrow way in their lifetime. Matthew 7:13 - 14 KJV God also tells us that they all have gone astray and they all have become unprofitable. What does this really mean? Christ compounded this when he said let the dead bury their dead that a man that looks back is not fit for the kingdom of God. But humans are taking snapshots and selfies and have photo albums and they are vanity devils always stuck in the past. The Bible says to hold on to things that are eternal. Remember we are told to renew the mind. Are we really doing it? Here is the scripture. 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18
Here are two very important Commandments.
Thou shalt have none other gods before me.
8 Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth :
What is a graven image? Now set aside this we're not under the law issue for a minute. This has great importance. Why? Because if your mind is vanity driven and it wanders to places it shouldn't go, God tells you not to go don't look back or you're not fit for the kingdom of God you're now not abiding in the vine. He's perfect, he's holy but you have yet to learn. Crucify the flesh remember that. The Bible says a man of God will meditate on the word of God day and night and God gave us his word. (Psalm 1, 2) Deuteronomy 8 covers a great amount of territory. That means our focus has to be on his ways and on his thoughts. You can tell yourself okay I'll be a good man and I'll go work construction for the next 40 years and build this big Empire and in the end you still end up in hell. Even if you put food on the table are you listening to him? Abide in the vine. Remember it is written the vine is Holy so should the branches be. Few be there that find it in their lifetime they have all become unprofitable and gone astray. Next of course the next commandment after that Deuteronomy 8 is Deuteronomy 9 tells us not to bow down to images and and idols and of course people do this. Many when they are confronted they make excuses.
Romans 7:19-25 KJV
19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. 20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. 22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
There is another tool you have that God gave you put on the whole armor of God. Remember "Warring against the law of my mind".
Let me try and conclude this way people want Heaven in Hell. We live in a fallen world. We know there was a war in heaven. Eve disobeyed God and so did Adam ignorantly. Look what the scripture say: 33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”
But True Believers it tells us to put on the mind of the lord. “For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 2:16
So let's conclude like this we are told to bring forth good fruit. Now we know when we are born again fruit comes from that. But there are people struggling with sin even within the body of believers. I quite often notice people that aren't lazy necessarily but are builders, workers even women not just men and they work extremely hard and they're attracted to beautiful things such as flowers and decorating their homes and even their own bodies but inside they might be evil little sinful devils. Some of these people might not even be true believers. Look what Christ said and this is extremely important and it goes along with everything else.
Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
Matthew 23:26
8] If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. 1 John 1:8
