[16] And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? [17] And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments .
He was told to sell all he's got and give the money to the poor pick up his cross and follow him Christ. Now I wrote about this before. Salvation is a free gift as written in John 3:16 and is given through God's grace and mercy. It's God's gift which is the good news gospel. The gospel is the great news. It's not a works based gospel although your works are important but it's your heart that needs to be in right standing with an eternal holy God because one day you're going to stand before him and give an account for your life. Many will not be able to stand having been deceived in this life not understood that there's a way that appears right to a man but in the end it is the way of death. Proverbs 14:12 to 16 It's odd that this man would have to sell everything give the money to the poor and then he would have treasures in heaven. They said Christ did so many wonderful works it could fill volumes it's not all in the Bible. However what is in the Bible is sufficient for us to have understanding. We were warned that the way is extremely narrow and few will enter compared to the multitudes of people that ever lived on planet Earth. Many will spend eternity in darkness being outer darkness which is hell. The Bible says: "You must be born again" as Jesus Christ explained this to Nicodemus the Pharisee as written in John 3:3. ( Bible reference ) God also tells us that many are destroyed for lack of understanding. They Heap up teachers that tell them what they want to hear. Now of course you have a lot of atheists in the world or people from many different religions. The word religion can be complicated. Salvation is in a person not a religion. But some of the functions that the Jewish priesthood in the synagogue temple performed were extremely important. Also there are scriptures where people were instructed to make an altar and they were given instructions of what to do even the measurements including steps for righteousness and etiquette circumstances. But Christ had some of his worst criticism for religious people. He criticized them saying they appeared righteous onto men but within we're full of every evil you can imagine as so many people on this planet Earth are. People put a lot of time into material possessions; sorceries and idolatry including fornication. For example a fellow won the lottery in Canada recently which is quite substantial but I read what he said he was going to do. There were some positive things in there but there was no mention about God or Christ even about serving Christ. Some famous people wrote songs against Christianity and actually wrote lyrics that they believe in nobody but themselves. They didn't create themselves yet in interviews they would say they did not fear death because they felt as like getting in one car out and into another. Sometimes when celebrities are young and the achieve great fame they make a mockery of themselves because they're young and they have little understanding. But what they've done by achieving that fame and fortune is nonetheless remarkable compared to the people winning a lottery and getting it for nothing. Some of these people hustled and bustled on streets with not even enough money to buy a coffee and next they find themselves living in some mansion wondering how did they get this being glorified by the paparazzi.
Some people's lives are cut short by disease or some sort of health problem or even some accident at work or driving the car while others circum and are affected by violence and evil or to some war or famine. Meanwhile while people have it good they go relax in the sunshine just thinking about fornication and all the things that God warns not to do. You know Christ said that many will see the prophets in God's kingdom but they themselves will be thrust out. “There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.”
In 2022 I was praising on piano live and came up with a song called " Hypocrites will I find faith ". It was just in demo version and recently I upgraded it and realized didn't really have an audio version of it prepared. So I located my work and worked on it because it was just a demo. So many of us could be hypocrites and even true believers sometimes make mistakes as they're learning and improving seeking the righteousness of Christ. Only God is good and there is not even one according to Christ. You know there's a story about the man who went home justified who beat his breast crying have mercy on me a sinner.
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
You see one man was a hypocrite as so many humans are. I remember when I started to truly become a true believer and I still had my lost deceived friends and the manner of their conversation was vanity as it was for so many years that their aspirations were according to the rudiments of the world not Christ. ( Scripture ) They appeared righteous to those that liked them but their hearts were in the wrong place. This is something very important because you may see the prophets in the kingdom of God but yourself be thrust out.
27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. MATHEW 13.27 KJV
This describes countless human beings. They say one thing and do yet another. Are we faithful to Christ. So many appear righteous unto men but they're full of all manner of iniquity. You can't fool God. You just fool your own heart. Many judge a book by its cover and many people as you know get all sorts of operations to improve their vanity but their heart is far from Christ gripped in sin and rebellion. God does not judge a man by his height or his vanity but by his heart. What is the condition of your heart and are you a hypocrite. Would you sooner disobey God and follow the wicked and give God lip service or are you storing up treasures for heaven where moths will not get at them?
Afterthoughts and after notes
The lesson the preacher Philip Blair from Torch of Christ Ministries is relaying teaching these youngsters is related to what I've talked about here being a hypocrite. Some people are taught by their parents to believe in Christ but do they really believe in Christ? Do they really know him or do they simply follow doctrines of demons or doctrines of devils simply because they've learned a way contrary to the Bible. The Bible says as I've described before there's a way that seems right to a man in the end it is the way of death but people are blind and dumbfounded to really understand what this means. You can see this brother's video here and pray for his ministry and for him and his family.
I think all street preachers Canadian & America are effective but I particularly like the Americans which some Canadians think they're Christianity is not as good as Canadian Christianity which is hogwash. Canadians are good but Americans are not as scared to rebuke people with long suffering. They don't go around in circles they get right to the chase most of them. As you can see this brother which I never met Gabe the Street Preacher is doing here. Look at the opposition he has.
