“See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand .”

Cliffe Knechtle was asked profound questions
He was a man rejected and despised of the world and well acquainted with sorrow incredible isn't it and he humbled himself as a man on Earth.
This is an excellent question. This is a superb question. This is a question people wrestle with and have a hard time understanding and when they cant understand it they go back to the wicked world and follow all the wrong ways continually! .
He the man asked the preacher an intelligent question and one that is profound and needs an answer and there is probably more than one answer from simplicity to complication.
Why did God allow Hitler to kill 6 million Jews and he doesn't seem interested in the affairs of men if he does exist? He does exist!
He gave us his son the lord Jesus Christ his "only begotten son" and he became a man and humbled himself as a man and yet he was despised mocked and rejected by the world. He was perfect in beauty of spirit and holy yet rejected by the Pharisees, even some Jews who were looking for a good looking charming, charismatic, military man that the world would adorn, take interest in and flock him like an idol but God didn't send what they intended God sent not what they intended yet he was well pleased with his only begotten son and he said listen to him but people do not listen to him they give him lip service. The Pharisees were looking for ways to kill him. Kill the son of the living God. Think about that.
“Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.” Romans 1:21 KJV
8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me . Matthew 15:8 KJV
The truth is this can become a very difficult and intricate tackled in many sermons and people have tackled these issues in the past. God chose Israel as his chosen people and through Israel to bless the rest of the world other nations as they say. And through that nation he chose the true messiah came from. Isaiah 53
And look how they attack Israel even recently and God is the God of Israel and there is no other God besides that God..
18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. Genesis 22:18 KJV

In my afterthoughts and after notes God said I put life and death before you choose life and the fact that Christ on the day of judgment is going to tell the multitudes of people probably in the millions he never knew them goes to show you the wicked hearts of people who think that they are good when they are evil in their hearts. They think that they're Christians but they don't obey him they obey the world of sin, flesh and the devil. Their simple not his sheep! In fact a lot of people follow many counterfeit Christs and refuse correction no matter if the doctrine is corrupt, questionable or doctrines of devils. Then we have atheism that deceives people as well. But people that seem to be interested in Christ or God and ask the questions this man did is very important. God tells us nations that forget him are turned into hell. There are nations that don't know him and that reject him even rejecting the Bible persecuting prophets in past or Christians. We reap what we sow. God tells us light came into the world and men loved darkness. Through his only begotten son who was a Jewish Rabbi on Earth Jesus Christ of Nazareth God offers us eternal life John 3:16. "For God so loved the world" he didn't come to condemn it he came to save it from sin and save people and bring them to repentance. He said repent or perish and repenting is not I'm sorry. If we don't take interest in knowing him or crying out to him or acknowledging him and he gave us our soul and he tells us all souls belong to him then how do humans expect him to be there when people push him away. You know they have the saying that Christ is knocking on the church door while they're inside worshiping someone/something but he's on the outside and they don't let him in isn't that profound in of itself and this is the truth. Think about it on Earth he chose 12 Apostles and yet one was a devil. A chosen apostle by the living son of God was a devil.
