Interesting I was looking at Elijah the prophet and what he did with the prophets of baal after they failed the challenge and their god did not answer/show up. So then I'm looking at 2 King 10:24-28 and they smote baal worshipers. They didn't let them escape. Why?
14 And he said, Take them alive. And they took them alive, and slew them at the pit of the shearing house, even two and forty men; neither left he any of them.
19 Now therefore call unto me all the prophets of Baal , all his servants, and all his priests; let none be wanting: for I have a great sacrifice to do to Baal ; whosoever shall be wanting, he shall not live. But Jehu did it in subtilty, to the intent that he might destroy the worshippers of Baal.
I believe it was prophized by Elijah.
Now then I came across that advertisement at the top and although we're not under the law can't earn our own salvation by our own merits/works still Christ is Holy and so should the branches be just like the vine is. I just thought you might find this interesting. Now old testament of course. Putting aside lordship salvation you know the difference between right and wrong when you were under the law and you were lost. You also know Christ is the unblemished Lamb of God. So salvation is one thing but learning and not repeating your old sins because the flesh is weak it's possible/proper and sometimes it's not proper to continue such evil old man bringing you down. I mean how many born again Bible believing Christians will see a woman out there and I'm talking about the men you know pleasant to look at and you think things you shouldn't have. Why would you want to continue in your corrupt flesh but never learning. Apostle Paul knew he had a thorn in his side and he was weak but I know in our weakness we are strong but shall we continue to step in the poo poo unclean thing? I also find it ironic that God says he will puke out of his mouth the lukewarm Church, the lukewarm preacher he would rather either be cold or HOT on fire but not lukewarm yet it seems as though lukewarm is welcome with open arms today.
Then we have the age factor I noticed a woman alive maybe 115 116 years old and she said her secret is don't argue with people which is excellent advice turn the other cheek. But then just because somebody gets 116 + years old might be a little bit of a blessing and that's a good sign especially if they keep married all those years until their spouse passes away that's a nice thing to hear about a functional family that loves each other. But that doesn't mean that people living to 116 years old or further would know God dying in their sins and perishing. They were paid in full when they were on Earth. They had their nice comfort and their deception. How do we counter balance that with the apostles who died at the hands of evildoers some of them were persecuted like John the Baptist, Apostle Paul or Stephen the apostle. What about the martyrs in the book of Revelation that did not love their own lives to the death? What about Christ himself that died at the age 33 for the sins of the world, a young man still but not your ordinary young man he truly was whom he said he was.
Afterthoughts : Baal worship (false god) even today is evil as can be and wicked leads to death/hell. If you die in your sins without Christ and you're committing baal worship knowingly/unknowingly don't consider yourself a Christian you have reason to FEAR!. I read there's over 10,000 religions in the world that's unbelievable but there's only a handful of huge ones that are world religions. GOD IS RELATIONSHIP! Which GOD do you worship? Are you sure you worship the real Christ/JEHOVAH.
