"THE FAITH TO FORGIVE" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

"THE FAITH TO FORGIVE" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

I BELIEVE THE BASIS FOR FORGIVENESS IS THE LOVE AND GRACE THAT GOD HAS FOR US.  1ST JOHN 4:19 SAYS "We love him, because he first loved us."  ALSO, EPHESIANS 2:8 SAYS "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God."

IT IS ONLY BECAUSE GOD FIRST LOVED AND FORGAVE US THAT WE CAN LOVE AND FORGIVE OTHERS.  HOW CAN WE MINISTER FORGIVENESS TO OTHERS IF WE ARE NOT WALKING IN THE FORGIVENESS OF GOD?  HE FORGAVE US BEFORE WE REPENTED OR EVEN ASKED FOR FORGIVENESS.  WE ARE TO FORGIVE OTHERS THEIR TRESPASSES JUST LIKE GOD FORGAVE US OUR TRESPASSES. WE SHOULD FORGIVE WHETHER OR NOT THE OTHER PERSON REPENTS OR WANTS OUR FORGIVENESS.  HOWEVER, I DON'T BELIEVE A RELATIONSHIP CAN BE COMPLETELY RESTORED UNTIL THERE IS REPENTANCE ON THEIR PART.

FOR EXAMPLE, WE SHOULD FORGIVE OUR MATE FOR ANYTHING, EVEN ADULTERY.  HOWEVER, IF THERE IS NO TRUE...

"DEATH HAS LOST ITS POWER" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"DEATH HAS LOST ITS POWER" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Matthew 27:52 "And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,"

This is an amazing event that only Matthew records. This earthquake apparently rolled the stones away from many of the graves in the vicinity of Jerusalem, and some of the saints buried there arose from the dead. Even at the death of Jesus, such power was released that death lost its grip on its captives.

It is uncertain whether these resurrected saints died again or were caught up to God. If they were resurrected at Christ's death, then they would have had to die again, just as Lazarus or Jairus' daughter or the widow's son at Nain or anyone else that Jesus raised from the dead during His ministry. This is because Jesus was, "the firstfruits of them that slept" (Acts 26:23; 1 Cor. 15:20). Jesus was not the first person physically raised from the dead, but He was the first person...

"ARE YOU READY TO BE USED BY JESUS?" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

HAVE YOU WONDERED WHY GOD DOES NOT USE YOU MORE IN MINISTRY.   ARE YOU READY TO BE USED?   A LOT OF BORN-AGAIN CHRISTIANS ARE READY TO GO OUT AND TELL THE WORLD ABOUT JESUS AND WHAT HE DID FOR THEM. THIS IS GREAT AND WHAT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO DO, BUT WHEN SOMEONE ASKS THE QUESTION ABOUT HOW TO GET BORN AGAIN, SOME OF THEM ARE NOT ROOTED ENOUGH IN THE WORD OF GOD TO ANSWER.  I BELIEVE THAT WE ALL SHOULD BE SO GROUNDED IN THE WORD THAT WE KNOW GOD'S MESSAGE AND HOW TO SHARE IT ALL WITH ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN.

I BELIEVE SOME OF US WERE LIKE THE PEOPLE WHO FOLLOWED JESUS WHILE HE WAS DOING MIRACLES. THEY WANTED TO DO WHAT HE WAS DOING BUT THEY WERE NOT READY.  JOHN 2:23-25 SAYS "Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did. But Jesus did...

"THE POWER IN THE NAME OF JESUS" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

"THE POWER IN THE NAME OF JESUS" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

I AM GETTING A LOT OUT OF JOHN 11.  I ALWAYS LIKED THE STORY OF LAZARUS BUT THE MORE I STUDY, THE MORE I WONDER ABOUT THINGS.  IN JOHN 11:35 WHERE IT SAYS "JESUS WEPT", HE WAS NOT WEEPING BECAUSE LAZARUS WAS DEAD.  HE KNEW HE WOULD RAISE HIM FROM THE DEAD BUT HE WAS WEEPING BECAUSE OF THE UNBELIEF THAT WAS AROUND HIM.

THE DEVIL HAD ALL OF THEM BELIEVING THAT LAZARUS WAS GONE, BUT JESUS KNEW BETTER (HEBREWS 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil.)  HE KNEW THAT NOW BY BEING FLESH AND BLOOD, HE COULD DEFEAT DEATH AND DESTROY THE POWER OF THE DEVIL.  HOWEVER, I DON'T BELIEVE THE DEVIL KNEW THAT BUT HE FOUND OUT WHEN JESUS SAID "LAZARUS, COME FORTH"  "44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave clothes: and his face was...

"CHRIST IS ALIVE IN US" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"CHRIST IS ALIVE IN US" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

John 19:30 "When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost."

When Jesus cried, "It is finished," He was not referring to the whole plan of salvation as being completed. He still had to descend into the lower parts of the earth and lead the captives out (Eph. 4:8-9), as well as come back from the dead and ascend to the Father to make intercession for us (Heb. 7:25).

Paul made it very clear in 1 Corinthians 15:14 and 17, that if Jesus did not rise from the dead, then our faith is vain and we are yet in our sins.

Why is the resurrection so important? The resurrection of Jesus makes Christianity different from religion because we are dealing with a real, live person, not just principles. Christianity is fellowship with a real person who is alive.

Also, forgiveness of sins is not obtained by a...

"WILL YOU FORGIVE, NO MATTER WHAT?" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

THE DEFINITION OF FORGIVENESS IS, "TO GIVE UP RESENTMENT AGAINST SOMEONE OR TO STOP WANTING TO PUNISH THEM."  WHEN SOMEONE HAS DONE SOMETHING TO YOU THAT HURTS YOU AND ASKS FOR YOUR FORGIVENESS, IS THIS WHAT YOU THINK OF?  WE DO THINGS SO OFTEN TO EACH OTHER AND ASK FORGIVENESS SO MANY TIMES THAT, I BELIEVE, THE MEANING HAS GOTTEN LOST.  ARE THERE TIMES YOU SAY YOU FORGIVE BUT STILL RESENT WHAT THEY DID?  THAT IS NOT FORGIVENESS.  WHAT IF JESUS FORGAVE US AND THEM HELD RESENTMENT AGAINST US FOR WHAT WE HAD DONE?  WE WOULD BE IN PRETTY BAD SHAPE, WOULDN'T WE?

IS THERE SOMEONE YOU NEED TO FORGIVE?  IT COULD BE A CO-WORKER, A FRIEND, A NEIGHBOR OR EVEN A FAMILY MEMBER.  DO YOU KNOW WHAT JESUS SAID ABOUT FORGIVENESS?  IN MATTHEW 6:14 HE SAID "For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you."  TO ME,...

"HONOR YOUR PARENTS" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"HONOR YOUR PARENTS" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

John 19:26 "When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!"

Children are to honor their parents, even after they become adults. However, the command to obey is temporary (Gal. 4:1-2). Honor naturally leads to obedience if nothing is asked contrary to God's laws, but honor and obedience are not synonymous. The scriptures teach that when a child marries he is to leave his father and mother and cleave unto his mate (Gen. 2:24). Parental dominance that extends into marriage is the source of many divorces and much marital strife. Yet, a child is to honor his parents for all their life.

The definition of the word "honor" means "to esteem, respect", and the Greek word from which "honor" is translated means "to prize, i.e. to fix a valuation upon" (Strong). There are many applications of children...

"THE VEIL IS TORN" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

"THE VEIL IS TORN" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Luke 23:45 "And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst."

The veil spoken of here reached from the ceiling to the floor, from wall to wall, and separated the Holy of Holies from the holy place in the temple. Solomon's temple was 30 cubits high (1 Ki. 6:2), but Herod increased the height to 40 cubits according to the writings of Josephus, a first century historian. Therefore, depending on what standard you use to convert cubits to feet (there is uncertainty as to exactly what a cubit equaled in our feet and inches), this veil was somewhere between 60 feet and 90 feet high.

It is significant that this veil was rent from top to bottom (Mt. 27:51; Mk. 15:38). No man could have torn the veil in this fashion. It was definitely God that rent the veil. The time when this veil was rent corresponds exactly with the moment Jesus died.

Hebrews 9:1-9...

"ARE YOU SURE THERE IS NO GOD?" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

OVER THE YEARS I HAVE TRIED TO FIND A WAY TO CONVINCE YOU NON BELIEVERS THAT GOD IS REAL AND THE BIBLE IS HIS HOLY WORD.  AS I WAS PREPARING THIS MESSAGE THIS MORNING IT CAME TO MIND THAT EVERYONE HAS THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD.  (ROMANS 1:18-19 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.)

YOU MIGHT NOT BELIEVE GOD HAS REVEALED HIMSELF TO YOU BUT THAT DOESN'T REALLY MATTER BECAUSE HE HAS, AND, IF YOU WOULD  BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF, YOU WOULD ADMIT IT.

YOU PROBABLY DON'T BELIEVE THE BIBLE EITHER BUT THAT ALSO DOES NOT MATTER.   THE BIBLE IS THE WORD OF GOD AND IT SAYS IN 2ND TIMOTHY 3:16...
