About Genealogies
Luke 3:23, 'And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli.'
MATTHEW 1:1-17; LUKE 3:23-38
Even the genealogies are inspired by God and profitable (2 Tim. 3:16). Matthew traces Jesus' genealogy through Joseph back to Solomon. However, there was a curse placed on one of Solomon's sons named Jechonias (Jer. 22:24-30), which Jesus avoided by being born of a virgin.
Luke mentions Jesus as being the supposed son of Joseph who was the son of Heli. It was actually Mary who was the daughter of Heli. This was done in other Old Testament instances (Num. 27:1-11; 36:12 with Ruth 4:6). Mary's genealogy was also from David but through Nathan, a...
God Still Performs MiRACLES
Mark 16:20 'And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.'
The Lord confirmed the preaching of His Word with miracles. If Jesus and the first century Christians needed the Word confirmed with the miraculous (Heb. 2:4), then we do too. There is no scripture that says these miraculous signs have passed away.
Some people have interpreted 'that which is perfect' in 1 Corinthians 13:10, as being the complete Bible. This has led them to believe that the gifts of the Spirit have ceased. Although God's Word is perfect (Ps. 19:7), it is not the 'perfect thing' that is referred to here. 1 Corinthians 13:8 does say that tongues shall cease, but it will not...
Greetings everyone. Boy this year has been something else!!! Almost glad it is almost over. We have had some tough moments early on. In the Spring, our 27yro grandson had not 1 but 2 heart attacks and 2 open heart surgeries. Plus his body was riddled with at least 3 different infections. Good news-God brought him through it all. We still have him. In June I tested positive for the covid-19. I had a mild case and since we had warm weather I spent most of my time on my patio getting as much vitamin D from the sun. Drank lots of liquids, took multivitamin supplements, lots of organic chicken broth and soup and did sage steams. Then the Lord in spite of the pandemic, blessed us financially and God gave me my hearts desire of a particular suite suitable for my own studio so that I can relaunch my Patspraze Gospel Music program. Today is my 70th birthday and I am thankful that I am in relatively good health to continue doing my Father's work. Praying for His leading in the new year....

Mark 16:18 'They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.'
This either speaks literally of supernatural protection if we pick up a snake, or symbolically of protection in our fight against the devil. Since the other four signs in this list are literal, it is most probable that this means physically taking up snakes.
The apostle Paul experienced this supernatural protection from a viper when he was shipwrecked on the island of Melita (Acts 28:3-5). However, this is the only recorded example of this type of protection in the New Testament.
There is no record of the disciples picking up snakes just to prove they were...

Water Baptism Is An Act Of Faith
Mark 16:16 'He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.'
This scripture has led many to believe that water baptism is a part of salvation and that the born-again experience cannot be a reality without it.
This same kind of thinking would make seeing Jesus a prerequisite for salvation, based on John 6:40.
It is faith in the redemptive work of Christ that produces salvation - not our actions. However, James writes that faith without works is dead (Jas. 2:20).
Faith alone saves, but saving faith is never alone; it must be acted upon.
This is what Mark is referring to when he speaks of baptism.
Water baptism is a command of Jesus and is the initial...
