"DEPEND ON GOD, NOT THE GIFT" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Depend On God, Not The Gift

Mark 11:2 'And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him.'

MARK 11:1-6

The gifts of the Spirit are not meant to be a substitute for our own faith in the Lord. We are not to depend so completely on some individual with a spiritual gift that we neglect our own spiritual growth and maturity. We can receive anything we need from the Lord without a gift of the Spirit operating through another individual, if we know how to believe. Dependence on the Lord directly is superior to dependence on the Lord indirectly through someone operating in one of the spiritual gifts.

What if...

The Miracle Of The Donkey And Colt

John 12:14-15 'And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written, Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass's colt.'

JOHN 12:14-15

This is the fulfillment of Zechariah's prophecy in Zechariah 9:9. Notice how specific Zechariah's prophecy is and how exactly it was fulfilled. Zechariah prophesied Jesus not only riding an ass, but also a colt (unbroken), the foal of an ass. Zechariah also mentioned the people rejoicing greatly and shouting which certainly came to pass on this day.

All four gospels include a triumphal entry, but only Matthew records a donkey with a colt. A simple explanation to a so-called 'contradiction' is that Jesus rode the colt...

"DON'T BE LUKEWARM" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

DON'T BE LUKEWARM

I GET SO TIRED OF HEARING PEOPLE TALK ABOUT RELIGIONS OTHER THAN CHRISTIANITY.  YOU CAN USUALLY TELL THAT THEY HAVE HEARD JUST ENOUGH TO MAKE THEM SOUND STUPID.  THE STATEMENT I HATE, YES I SAID HATE, IS "WELL, THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO GET TO HEAVEN".  DO THEY REALLY UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY ARE SAYING?  DO THEY EVER READ THE BIBLE?  EVIDENTLY NO, IN BOTH CASES.  ONE SIMPLE LITTLE VERSE MAKES ALL OF THIS VERY CLEAR AND THAT IS JOHN 14:6 WHERE JESUS SAYS "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

SO, WHEN YOU ARE IN A CONVERSATION WITH SOMEONE, WHETHER IT IS A FRIEND OR NOT, AND THEY COME OUT WITH A STATEMENT LIKE THIS,...

"WHAT DO YOU DO WITH TEMPTATION" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

By DAVID A. MCMILLEN, 2020-10-29

WHAT DO YOU DO WITH TEMPTATION?

I HAVE HEARD A LOT OF TEACHINGS ON TEMPTATION, SOME GOOD AND SOME NOT SO GOOD.  ONE OF THE WORST WAS ONE ON GOD TEMPTING US TO SEE WHAT WE WOULD DO.  HOW STUPID IS THAT?  THEY MUST THINK THAT GOD IS SITTING UP IN HEAVEN JUST WAITING TO ZAP ONE OF US THAT DOES SOMETHING WRONG.  THEY DON'T KNOW THE LOVING GOD THAT I KNOW AND THE ONE THAT SENT HIS OWN SON TO DIE FOR US ALL.

ANOTHER THING IS, DON'T THEY EVER READ THE BIBLE?  THE BIBLE CLEARLY TEACHES AGAINST THIS.  LOOK AT JAMES 1:13-14 WHERE IT SAYS "Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own...

How To Experience Eternal Life Today

John 17:3 'And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.'

In order to fully understand what eternal life is, it is helpful to understand what it is not. Eternal life is not living forever. Everyone lives forever in either heaven or hell. Also, eternal life is not living forever in the blessings of heaven as opposed to being tormented in hell.

John 3:36 and 5:24 show that eternal life is a present tense possession of the believer.

Here, Jesus defines eternal life as knowing God the Father and Jesus Christ.

As we have already discussed, the word 'know' is speaking of intimacy instead of mere intellectual knowledge. Therefore, eternal life is...

"KEEPING HIS COMMANDMENTS" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

KEEPING HIS COMMANDMENTS

HAVE YOU EVER JUST SAT AND THOUGHT ABOUT WHY GOD CREATED US?  HE KNEW WHAT WE WOULD DO.  HE KNEW ADAM WOULD SIN AND HE KNEW WHAT HE WOULD HAVE TO DO TO REDEEM THIS WORLD.  HE KNEW EVERYTHING THAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN, AND YET, HE STILL CREATED US.

I WILL GIVE YOU MY THOUGHTS.  WE KNOW GOD IS LOVE AND WE KNOW HOW MUCH HE LOVES US AND WANTS US TO LOVE HIM.  I BELIEVE HE MADE US WITH A FREE WILL SO WE COULD CHOOSE, FOR OURSELVES, WHETHER WE WANTED TO LOVE HIM OR NOT.  HE COULD HAVE MADE US ALL TO LOVE HIM LIKE ROBOTS BUT HE DIDN'T.  I BELIEVE HE JUST WANTED SOMEONE TO REALLY LOVE HIM JUST BECAUSE WE CHOOSE TO.

I ALSO BELIEVE HE WENT THROUGH ALL THAT HE DID SO HE WOULD HAVE SOMEONE TO FELLOWSHIP WITH ALL THROUGH...

"REJOICE IN THE LORD - ALWAYS" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Rejoice In The Lord - Always

John 16:33 'These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.'

The world experiences joy and happiness in direct proportion to their circumstances. Bad circumstances produce depression and sorrow, while good circumstances produce joy and peace. That's bondage, and does not have to be the case for a Christian. Our joy is not dependent on things, but rather on the person of Jesus Christ. He is our peace and joy.

The way we take advantage of this joy and peace in the midst of tribulation, is to have our minds and hearts stayed on things above and not on things of this earth. The invisible things of God are eternal while the...

"OVERCOME TRIBULATION" BY ANDREW WOMMACK

Overcome Tribulation

John 16:33 'These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.'

Jesus said we would have tribulation. He did not say that He was the one bringing the tribulation or what the tribulation would be, but He said it would come. Then He made the amazing statement that in the midst of tribulation we were to be of good cheer.

Tribulations exist because there is a battle between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of the devil. When we operate in faith, God is able to grant us such victory that we are actually better off because of the battle. It's just like when a army goes to war. If they win, they gain spoils. But if they embrace their...

GOD IS LOVE

I HAVE A LOT OF VERSES IN THE BIBLE THAT I TRULY LOVE.  DON'T GET ME WRONG, I LOVE THE WHOLE BIBLE BUT SOME VERSES ARE JUST BEAUTIFUL.  THERE ARE A LOT OF THEM ON LOVE. ONE OF MY FAVORITES ON LOVE IS 1ST JOHN 4:7-8 WHICH SAYS "Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love."  I HAVE OFTEN WONDERED HOW THIS VERSE RELATES TO AN ISLAMIC TERRORIST.  THE ONLY THING I CAN DO IS TO ASK MYSELF, "WHAT WOULD JESUS DO?"

WE HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT JESUS DIED FOR US KNOWING THAT WE WOULD BE BORN INTO A SINFUL WORLD AND THAT WE WOULD BE SINNERS. WE ALSO HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT HE DIED FOR THAT ISLAMIC TERRORIST...
YOU BE THE BIBLE FOR THE LOST TO READ

HAVE YOU EVER TRIED TO THINK OF A WAY TO TELL UNBELIEVERS WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS?  JESUS TOLD HIS DISCIPLES THAT IT COULDN'T BE DONE.  HE SAID THAT IT WAS NOT FOR THEM TO UNDERSTAND.  LOOK WHAT HE SAYS IN LUKE 8:10 And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

IF WE CAN'T GET THEM TO UNDERSTAND THE BIBLE, WE CAN GIVE THEM SOMETHING THAT WILL GET THEM THINKING ABOUT JESUS.  IT IS CALLED PLANTING A SEED.  I WILL GIVE YOU ONE THING I DID.  AS MOST OF YOU KNOW I PLAYED POKER FOR A LIVING SOME TIME BACK.  ONE NIGHT BEFORE THE GAME SOMEONE ASK ME WHAT MY FAVORITE CARD WAS.  I TOLD HIM THAT IT WAS THE KING OF HEARTS.  HE ASK ME WHY THE KING OF HEARTS AND NOT THE ACE OF HEARTS.  I TOLD HIM, AND ALL...
