There is a certain captivity to sin in our lives that prevents us from knowing God and getting close to him. Many are currently captive to sin, but God has made a way for us to be free. You might say "I don't feel... like I am captive to anything, that is because this captivity is not something that wants you to feel free, so without knowing freedom we don't realize captivity except that we might notice how difficult it is to get close to God. It is very difficult because God will not have sin, but because of his mercy he has made a way through his son Jesus that sets us free from sin and captivity and gives us access to our Father once again! "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Our confession and the acceptance of Jesus sets us free from captivity and allows us access once again!
