“It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.” Lamentations 3:26

Our challenge today!

In proverbs it tells us that hope deferred leads to a heavy heart. Have you ever hoped for something and it took what seemed to be forever before it came? It doesn’t seem so good as this passage says it is while you are going through it, but the waiting does something to us, it causes us to grow in faith, it causes us to lean more on God, assuming that he is the one that we are waiting on. In our waiting because it is so difficult to wait we find that it is even more difficult to wait quietly, Oh my! How hard it is to wait quietly, it is so much like it goes against every fiber of our being. So much that it seems to drain us of all our joy and strength, leaving us empty and spent, until that day that Jesus finally comes through for us. Have you ever wondered why it has to be like this? The answer is here; “it is good that...

"No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon." Mathew 6:24

Our challenge today!

Many people find it difficult to commit to God because of the things they will have to give up. They may have to quit doing certain things that they like if they are to be true followers of Christ. The bad thing about this is not that they will have to deny themselves something that they might like, but instead, if they do not deny themselves these things then they are guilty of serving God's enemy. You cannot have it both ways. Jesus is the way, straight is his way, and narrow is his path and few there be that find it.

Are you straddling the fence today? Deny yourself those pleasures that oppose God.

"Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way." John 4:50

Who said so? Who says something has every bit of importance to our believing doesn't it? When we are at work or whenever we hear news of things, often we ask the question, who ...said so? We need to have this confirmed or validated and guess what, this is always a good idea, unless Jesus says so! Out of the mouth of two or three witnesses a thing is established. With Jesus you can be guaranteed that what he has said is true, he has millions of witnesses! Proverbs 4:20-22 instructs us to attend to his words.

"My son attend to my words, incline your ear unto my sayings! Jesus says so! Verify all that you want, but his "word" can be taken straight to the bank! It is as solid as gold and the greatest health...

"But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made near by the blood of Christ." Ephesians 2:13

There is a certain captivity to sin in our lives that prevents us from knowing God and getting close to him. Many are currently captive to sin, but God has made a way for us to be free. You might say "I don't feel... like I am captive to anything, that is because this captivity is not something that wants you to feel free, so without knowing freedom we don't realize captivity except that we might notice how difficult it is to get close to God. It is very difficult because God will not have sin, but because of his mercy he has made a way through his son Jesus that sets us free from sin and captivity and gives us access to our Father once again! "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Our confession and the acceptance of Jesus sets us free from captivity...

"I have planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth anything, neither he that watereth, but God that giveth the increase." 1Corinthians 3:6,7

So who gets the bragging rights? Who should take God's glory and make it their own? "For whosover exalts himself shall be abased; and ...he that humbles himself shall be exalted." Luke 14:11 It is God that creates, God that speaks, God that moves, and God that is exalted! So if God does the hard part our burden is light!! Amen?

As it is written: "Come unto me, all ye that labor and heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Mathew 11:28 Jesus does the hard part, we just have to plant the seed and water it with prayer and then wait for him to give the increase!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, who mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee! Isaiah 26:3

Through the Holidays it is easy to get caught up in activity and often because of the stress of it all, we lose our peace and begin to suffer strife, that's because we need to just slow down a...nd stop to take time to remember God and set our mind of him, even though it may seem that we don't have time, if we don't take time we will lose our peace. Today, when we give thanks to God, take a little time to slow down and set your mind on the love that is from above, his kingdom, and others around you. Forget for a momenet about black Friday, shopping for Christmas, and work. Give thanks to God and to someone right next to you. Thank them for their life and for being in yours!!! God bless you all

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

‎"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder; and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The prince of peace." Isaiah 9:6

True peace has come to us as a gift from God through the unselfish act of the giving of his son..., born to save us, Jesus brings salvation and peace to all who accept this gift. Christmas is about Jesus, our savior, our gift from God.

It's about choosing God's government of love, laws of forgiveness, and words of wise counsel. Accepting this, unwrapping it, and discovering the incredible act of compassion for us all from God!

No greater love, no greater gift than this! Here it is,...
