I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE THIS TESTIMONY FROM A FRIEND IN INDIA.  PLEASE KEEP HIM IN YOUR PRAYERS.  WE CAN'T ALL GO TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH PREACHING THE GOSPEL BUT BY PRAYING FOR PEOPLE LIKE THIS, WE CAN BE A PART OF DOING WHAT JESUS COMMANDED US TO DO.  HERE IS HIS TESTIMONY: 

My full name is Heramba prasad saikia and I am a converted believer in Jesus from hinduism. My date of year is 1977 and I live in the north east province of India in my home town Barpeta, in the state of Assam. In 1992, when I was a high school student, I originally heard about Jesus through radio programs and I slowly began to give more attention to Jesus. I later made contact with some missionary organization to learn more about Jesus and christianity. From 1993 to 1999, I studied more and more about Jesus and compared Jesus teachings with the teachings of Krishna, the primary hindu deity. According to the hindu philosophy, if a person does good dees, they will be saved, and Krishna came to earth to protect the righteous, not the sinners. But Jesus said He came to earth for the sinners not for the righteous <Matt 9:12-13>. So Hallelujah, Jesus was for me!! He gave His life for me! How great and magnificent is the love and mercy of our God!

And I decided to accept Jesus, and my parents and elder brother were adamantly opposed to it. After a long time praying and by the grace of God, at last, I was baptized on 24 th June, 2001, At Dimapur 350 k.m. from where I lived, because there were no one to baptized me in my hometown. My state of Assam is saturated with hindu devoties with lots of temples. In fact 3.32% of the population in Assam are Christian! After my baptism, I did a 6 months Discipleship Training School <DTS> with Youth With A Mission <YWAM> at Shillong.

The Lord again blessed me abundantly in 2002, when I married my wife, Sewali, a Christ believer girl. We have 2 sons, Sharnam <8 years old> and Nishanta <5 years>. We are a very happy family, joyfull and complete in Jesus marvelous love! Ephesians 3:20-21, "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen."
My father was a hindu priest, and in 1999, he passed away, and my elder brother inherited all my family's material wealth, because of my decision to abandon the hindu religion. In 2004, my mother also passed away. In 2010, I attended YWAM's School Of Frontier Mission <SOFM> lecture phase with a two year mission field assigment. After this period, the Lord continued His blessings on me and allowed me to serve Him in YWAM's Frontier Missions as an evangelist and church planter. God gave me a vision to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my community of Barpeta. While praying, God called me to reach out to all the hindus in my town, and that has been my goal ever since. Praise God! He is been using me! In these years, lots of people have come to accept jesus as their Lord and Saviour.

There are more than 500 baptized believers here in the Barpeta District. And more than 160 are ready for baptism. Hallelujah!! Though we don't have a church building, we do have 59 home cells group events specially, we have an evangelism team called "Winnerman". Our team focuses on Gospel tract distribution, home visits, prayer for sick and needy, social activities, health camp etc. We do all of this to serve the Lord among hindus and share Jesus love and free gift of Salvation with them.

Many time we face strong opposition to speading the message of the Gospel, and we encounter strong religious persecution from local hindu government officials and other hindu organizations, like BJP, RSS, VHP etc. On last January, I was a victim of that and broke my one leg. But we are fearless, because God is with us in His work, and we know that Jesus has already won the victory over the darkness on the cross of Calvary. Hallelujah!! And we believe, God has given us this opportunity to serve Him through these unreached people group of Assam.
