FORGIVENESS AND HEALING, WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?
I HAVE WRITTEN BEFORE ABOUT OUR SINS OPENING US UP FOR THE DEVIL TO DO WHAT HE WANTS TO IN OUR LIVES AND I CAN'T FIND A BETTER PLACE IN THE BIBLE TO SHOW THIS THAN WHEN JESUS HEALED THE MAN AT THE POOL OF BETHESDA. HE HEALED HIM AND SAID FOR HIM NOT TO SIN ANY MORE OR A WORSE SICKNESS COULD COME UPON HIM. WHEN YOU DO SIN, AND WE ALL DO, BE SURE TO ASK FOR FORGIVENESS, NOT BECAUSE THAT SIN HAS NOT BEEN FORGIVEN ALREADY, BUT TO LET SATAN KNOW YOU ARE BACK UNDER GOD'S PROTECTION.
HEALING AND THE FORGIVENESS OF SIN GO HAND IN HAND. JESUS MADE THIS CLEAR WHEN HE HEALED THE MAN SICK OF THE PALSY. LOOK WHAT HE SAYS IN MATTHEW 9:2-7 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee. And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth. And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk? But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. And he arose, and departed to his house. BOTH SIN AND SICKNESS WERE TAKEN CARE OF THROUGH THE ATONEMENT.
SINCE BOTH SIN AND SICKNESS WERE DEALT WITH AT THE CROSS, IT IS HARD FOR ME TO UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE CAN BELIEVE THEIR SINS ARE FORGIVEN BUT THEY ARE NOT HEALED. IN DEUTERONOMY 28 YOU WILL FIND THAT SICKNESS, POVERTY AND OPPRESSION ARE NOT BLESSINGS. THEY ARE ALL CURSES AND GALATIANS 3:13 TELLS US THAT, AND I QUOTE " Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree ."
SO IF YOU ARE BORN AGAIN AND ARE SICK, USE YOUR FAITH TO BELIEVE YOU ARE HEALED JUST AS YOU DID WHEN YOU USED IT TO BELIEVE YOUR SINS WERE FORGIVEN. JESUS DID IT ALL AND THE SOONER WE ALL REALIZE THIS, OUR LIVES WILL BE SO MUCH BETTER.
