I AM AN 80 YEAR OLD MALE, BORN AGAIN, CHRISTIAN WITH A LOVE FOR JESUS. I DO NOT GET OUT MUCH ANYMORE BUT FIND THAT TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT THE LOVE JESUS HAS FOR THEM IS NOT ONLY WHAT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO DO BUT SOMETHING THAT THE WORLD NEEDS.

WHAT MATTERS IS....HE LIVES
THERE IS SOME QUESTION AS TO WHEN THE RESURRECTION HAPPENED. I BELIEVE IT IS BECAUSE OF THE JEWISH SABBATH. IT IS OBSERVED ON THE SEVENTH DAY OF THE WEEK ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE. ACCORDING TO THE JEWISH CALENDAR, THE SABBATH STARTS ON OUR FRIDAY EVENING AT SUNSET AND ENDS ON SATURDAY EVENING AT SUNSET. THIS WOULD MAKE THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK ON OUR SUNDAY STARTING AT SUNSET ON SATURDAY. SINCE THE JEWS DON'T ACKNOWLEDGE THE RESURRECTION, IT SHOULDN'T MATTER TO CHRISTIANS WHEN THEY HAVE THEIR SABBATH.
SOME SAY THAT THE RESURRECTION HAPPENED ON OUR THURSDAY BECAUSE THAT WOULD ACCOUNT FOR WHAT IT SAYS IN MATTHEW 12:40 THAT JESUS WAS IN THE HEART OF THE EARTH THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS, THURSDAY NIGHT, FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY NIGHT WITH THE RESURRECTION HAPPENING ON OUR SUNDAY MORNING, OUR SABBATH. THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH THIS IS THAT WE CONSIDER MONDAY AS THE FIRST DAY OF OUR WEEK. THAT SEEMS TO CONFLICTS WITH MATTHEW 28:1 WHERE IT SAYS "In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week" UNTIL WE REMEMBER THAT IT IS TALKING ABOUT THE JEWISH SABBATH. I HOPE I HAVE MADE THIS CLEAR ENOUGH FOR YOU ALL TO UNDERSTAND.
TO ME, IT DOESN'T REALLY MATTER WHEN THE RESURRECTION HAPPENED. WHAT MATTERS IS THAT JESUS ROSE FROM THE DEAD. THERE ARE ONLY A FEW THINGS MENTIONED IN THE BIBLE AS TO WHAT HE DID THOSE THREE DAYS AND NIGHTS. TWO SCRIPTURES TELLS US:
1ST PETER 2:18-19 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison. AND VERSE 22 - Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.
EPHESIANS 4:8-10 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
LIKE I SAID, THE THING THAT MATTERS IS THAT JESUS DIED, WAS BURIED AND ROSE FROM THE DEAD. TOMORROW WILL BE A BLESSED DAY BECAUSE IT IS A DAY WE CAN CELEBRATE THE RESURRECTION OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR. HAPPY EASTER.
