I AM AN 80 YEAR OLD MALE, BORN AGAIN, CHRISTIAN WITH A LOVE FOR JESUS. I DO NOT GET OUT MUCH ANYMORE BUT FIND THAT TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT THE LOVE JESUS HAS FOR THEM IS NOT ONLY WHAT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO DO BUT SOMETHING THAT THE WORLD NEEDS.

JESUS WANTS TO USE YOU
THE LORD IS RISEN!!!! HAPPY EASTER MORNING. BEFORE WE GET STARTED ON OUR SUNRISE SERVICES AND OUR EASTER EGG HUNTS, LET'S TAKE A LITTLE TIME TO REFLECT ON WHAT THIS MORNING REALLY MEANS. OUR SAVIOR LIVES. LET'S READ ONE OF THE SCRIPTURES ON THE RESURRECTION. THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES.
MATTHEW 28: 1-6 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
THAT WAS NOT THE ONLY TIME THAT MARY MAGDALENE HAD BEEN TO THE TOMB. JOHN 20:1-17 SAYS THAT SHE HAD COME LATER AND THEN RAN TO TELL THE DISCIPLES THAT JESUS WAS NOT THERE. AFTER PETER AND JOHN SAW THE EMPTY TOMB THEY WENT HOME BUT MARY STAYED THERE WEEPING. THE ANGELS ASK HER WHY SHE WAS WEEPING AND SHE TOLD THEM THAT THEY HAD TAKEN AWAY HER LORD AND SHE DIDN'T KNOW WHERE THEY HAD LAID HIM. WHEN SHE TURNED AROUND, JESUS ASK HER WHY SHE WAS WEEPING. SHE THOUGHT HE WAS THE GARDNER AND TOLD HIM THE SAME THING SHE HAD TOLD THE ANGELS. THEN JESUS SAID "MARY". CAN YOU IMAGINE HOW SHE MUST HAVE FELT HEARING JESUS CALL HER NAME AND HER THINKING HE IS DEAD? I GET CHILLS EVERY TIME I READ THAT PART. I WOULD SUGGEST THAT YOU READ JOHN 20:1-17 TO GET THE COMPLETE PICTURE. I KNOW YOU WILL ENJOY IT.
I LIKE THIS STORY ABOUT MARY MAGDALENE BECAUSE IT BACKS UP WHAT I HAVE WRITTEN BEFORE ABOUT JESUS USING THE UNUSABLE. ALTHOUGH MARY WAS A PROSTITUTE BEFORE HER ENCOUNTER WITH JESUS, I FIND IT AMAZING THAT SHE WAS THE FIRST PERSON THAT JESUS APPEARED TO AFTER HIS RESURRECTION. SHE EVIDENTLY TURNED HER LIFE AROUND AND JESUS KNEW HER HEART AND KNEW THAT SHE WOULD DO WHATEVER HE TOLD HER TO DO. HE COULD HAVE APPEARED TO MARY, HIS MOTHER, AND HER WHEN THEY WERE FIRST AT THE TOMB BUT JESUS CHOSE NOT TO.
SO, IF YOU THINK GOD CANNOT USE YOU, JUST THINK OF MARY MAGDALENE. THAT SHOULD CHANGE YOUR MIND.
