YOUR PRAYERS MIGHT BE HINDERED BY DAVID MCMILLEN
YOUR PRAYERS MIGHT BE HINDERED
I WAS READING IN ACTS 13 AND WHEN I GOT TO WHERE SAUL AND BARNABAS WERE TRYING TO BRING THE WORD OF GOD TO THE PEOPLE ON THE ISLE OF PAPHOS, IT REMINDED ME OF WHEN DANIEL WAS PRAYING AND HE WAS HINDERED BY SATAN FROM GETTING HIS PRAYERS ANSWERED. THIS IS JUST ABOUT THE SAME THING BECAUSE SATAN WAS USING ELYMAS, THE SORCERER, THE SAME WAY. SATAN WILL DO EVERY THING IN HIS POWER TO STOP THE POWER OF GOD IN OUR LIVES. I WAS JUST GOING TO GIVE YOU THE CHAPTERS AND VERSES BUT I THOUGH I WOULD JUST QUOTE THEM BELOW SO YOU CAN SEE WHAT I MEAN.
FIRST IS DANIEL 10:12-14 WHERE IT SAYS "Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia. Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days." ALTHOUGH DANIELS PRAYER WAS HEARD BY GOD, GOD'S ANSWER WAS DELAYED. THIS IS WHY WE NEED TO STAND AGAINST HINDERING SPIRITS.
NOW LET'S LOOK AT ACTS 13:6 -11 THAT SAYS "And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Barjesus: Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God. But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith." BARJESUS WAS ANOTHER HINDERING SPIRIT TRYING TO STOP GOD'S WORD. SATAN WILL USE ANYTHING OR ANYONE HE CAN SO BEWARE.
NOW I HAVE WRITTEN ALL OF THIS TO GET TO MY POINT. WHEN YOU ARE PRAYING, THERE ARE HINDERING SPIRITS THAT WILL TRY TO STOP YOU FROM GETTING YOUR ANSWERS. WE NEED TO COME AGAINST THEM AND BIND THEM AND CAST THEM OUT OF OUR LIVES. THAT IS A COMMANDMENT JESUS GIVES US IN MATTHEW 10:8 WHERE HE SAYS "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give." IF CASTING OUT DEVILS DIDN'T WORK, JESUS WOULD NOT HAVE TOLD US TO DO IT. SO, IF YOUR PRAYERS ARE NOT BEING ANSWERED, THIS MIGHT GIVE YOU A CLUE AS TO WHY. USE ALL OF GOD'S COMMANDMENTS TO MAKE YOUR LIFE BETTER. HE HAS GIVEN THEM TO US AND I AM GOING TO USE THEM. HOW ABOUT YOU?
