PLEASING GOD AND PROSPERING
DO YOU KNOW HOW TO PLEASE GOD? SOME MIGHT SAY THAT BEING IN FELLOWSHIP WITH HIM PLEASES HIM AND I AM SURE THEY ARE RIGHT. THEY MIGHT ALSO SAY THAT GOING TO CHURCH AND TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT THE LOVE OF JESUS WOULD ALSO MAKE HIM PLEASED AND, AGAIN, I AM SURE THEY ARE RIGHT. I BELIEVE THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO PLEASE HIM AND WE ALL SHOULD BE STRIVING TO DO IT EVERY DAY.
LET'S LOOK AT WHAT THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT PLEASING HIM. HEBREWS 11:5-6 SAYS "By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." SO IF WITHOUT FAITH IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE HIM, THEN WE KNOW THAT FAITH IS ONE THING THAT DOES PLEASES HIM.
NOW WHAT ABOUT US PROSPERING? DOES THAT PLEASE HIM? IT SAYS IN 3RD JOHN 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. YES, HE WISHES THAT WE WOULD BUT DOES THAT PLEASE HIM? YES, BECAUSE IT TELLS US THIS IN PSALMS 35:27 WHERE IT SAYS "Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant."
NOW THAT WE KNOW PROSPERING PLEASES GOD, ARE YOU PROSPERING? WE ALL SHOULD BE BECAUSE HE HAS GIVEN US EVERYTHING THAT PERTAINS TO LIFE. IT TELLS US THIS IN 2ND PETER 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue. LET'S ALL START PROSPERING SO WE CAN PLEASE HIM. DON'T KNOW HOW? LET'S SEE WHAT THE JESUS SAYS ABOUT IT.
IN MATTHEW 11:29 JESUS SAYS TO "learn of me" AND WE CAN DO THIS BY STUDYING HIS WORD AND HAVING FAITH TO BELIEVE WHAT HE SAYS IS TRUE. IN MATTHEW 7:7 HE SAYS "Ask, and it shall be given you". DO YOU THINK HE LIES? HE DIDN'T SAY IT MIGHT BE GIVEN YOU. HE SAYS IN MARK 11:24 "when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." AGAIN, HE DIDN'T SAY YOU MIGHT HAVE THEM. HE IS OUR GOD, OUR HEAVENLY FATHER, THE ONE WHO SENT HIS ONLY SON TO DIE FOR US AND IF HE LOVED US ENOUGH TO DO THAT, DON'T YOU BELIEVE HE IS TELLING US THE TRUTH WHEN HE SAYS HE WANTS US TO PROSPER? FRIENDS, IT IS UP TO US. HE HAS ALREADY DONE EVERYTHING HE CAN DO. WE HAVE A FREE WILL AND IF WE DON'T WANT WHAT HE HAS TO OFFER, HE WILL NOT FORCE IT ON US. AS FOR ME, I WANT TO PROSPER.....HOW ABOUT YOU?
