I AM AN 80 YEAR OLD MALE, BORN AGAIN, CHRISTIAN WITH A LOVE FOR JESUS. I DO NOT GET OUT MUCH ANYMORE BUT FIND THAT TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT THE LOVE JESUS HAS FOR THEM IS NOT ONLY WHAT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO DO BUT SOMETHING THAT THE WORLD NEEDS.

WE ALL SHOULD BE PROSPERING
WHY DO YOU THINK GOD WANTS US ALL TO PROSPER? THE BIBLE TELLS US IN JOB 36:11 THAT IF WE WILL OBEY HIM THAT WE WILL AND SOMETHING ELSE. LOOK WHAT IT SAYS " If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures." THIS SOUNDS PRETTY GOOD TO ME. JOHN TELLS US IN 3RD JOHN 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. IN JOB IT ADDS PLEASURE AND IN JOHN HE ADDS HEALTH. I WILL TAKE BOTH OF THEM.
SOME PEOPLE SAY THAT GOD DOES NOT WANT US TO PROSPER. I BELIEVE THEY GET THIS FROM WHERE HE WAS TALKING TO A RICH YOUNG MAN WHO ASK HIM WHAT MUST HE DO TO BE SAVED. SEE WHAT JESUS TOLD HIM IN MATTHEW 19:21-22 "If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions." IF YOU JUST TOOK THESE TWO VERSES, YOU MIGHT GET THAT IDEA BUT LET'S LOOK AT THE VERSES BEFORE THESE TWO. FIRST JESUS TOLD THE YOUNG MAN THAT IF HE KEPT THE COMMANDMENTS HE WOULD HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. LET'S READ IT AND THEN SEE WHAT THE YOUNG MAN SAID. VERSES 16-20 "And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?" JESUS KNEW HE HAD NOT KEPT ALL THE COMMANDMENTS FROM HIS YOUTH. NO ONE CAN KEEP ALL THE COMMANDMENTS. THAT IS WHY WE NEED A SAVIOR. YOU SEE THE YOUNG MAN WAS SORROWFUL ABOUT GIVING UP HIS POSSESSIONS. THAT WAS COVETING WHICH IS ONE OF THE COMMANDMENTS. JESUS KNEW HIS HEART.
AS FOR THE REASON GOD WANTS US TO PROSPER, LET'S READ PSALMS 35:27 Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. DO YOU SEE THAT. HE GETS PLEASURE OUT OF US PROSPERING BECAUSE HE LOVES US SO MUCH. WOULDN'T YOU WANT YOUR KIDS TO PROSPER AND WOULDN'T THAT GIVE YOU PLEASURE. HE LOVES US MUCH MORE THAN WE LOVE OUR KIDS.
I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU BUT I AM GOING TO CLAIM HIS PROMISES AND PROSPER AS MUCH AS I CAN. WHEN WE DO, WE JUST HAVE TO REMEMBER TO SHARE IT WITH THOSE WHO ARE NOT AS PROSPEROUS. GOD LOVES A CHEERFUL GIVER.
