"YOU MUST BE A BELIEVER" BY DAVID MCMILLEN
YOU MUST BE A BELIEVER
DO YOU BELIEVE IN GOD'S WORD? HAVING FAITH TO BELIEVE IS THE FOUNDATION OF SALVATION. WE MUST HAVE FAITH TO BELIEVE THAT JESUS DIED FOR OUR SINS, WAS BURIED AND ROSE FROM THE DEAD. WE ALL HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE SAME MEASURE OF FAITH (ROMANS 12:3) BUT SOME DON'T USE THEIRS TO ITS FULLEST POTENTIAL. JESUS TALKED A LOT ABOUT BELIEVING. I AM GOING TO MENTION A FEW SCRIPTURES BELOW. READ THEM AND STUDY THEM. IF JESUS PUT THIS MUCH EMPHASIS ON BELIEVING, IT MUST BE IMPORTANT.
MARK 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
MARK 11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
MARK 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
LUKE 8:50 But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.
JOHN 11:40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
ANOTHER WAY TO SHOW YOU THAT BELIEVING IS SO IMPORTANT IS THAT EVEN WITH ALL OF JESUS' POWERS, HE HAD TROUBLE DOING WHAT HE WANTED TO DO BECAUSE OF UNBELIEF. HIS WILL WAS TO HEAL EVERYONE DURING HIS MINISTRY AND LOOK WHAT IT SAYS IN MATTHEW 13:57-58 ABOUT UNBELIEF WHEN HE CAME INTO HIS OWN COUNTRY. "And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house. And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief."
SO IT BOILS DOWN TO THIS, WE MUST BELIEVE IN GOD'S WORD AND THE POWER THAT IT HAS IF WE EXPECT TO RECEIVE ANYTHING FROM THE LORD. BELIEVING, COUPLED WITH FAITH, CAN ACCOMPLISH EVERYTHING THAT GOD HAS IN STORE FOR US. DO YOU BELIEVE IN HIM?
