"THE LAW" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

DID YOU KNOW THAT GOD GAVE THE TEN COMMANDMENTS TO SHOW THE PEOPLE JUST HOW BAD THEY WERE.  THE TEN COMMANDMENTS ARE CALL "THE LAW" AND BEFORE THE LAW, MEN WERE SINNING BUT DID NOT KNOW IT.  (ROMANS 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.)  THE LAW SHOWED PEOPLE WHAT SIN WAS AND THAT THEY NEEDED TO CHANGE.

BEFORE THE LAW, PEOPLE'S SINS WERE NOT IMPUTED (OR CHARGED) AGAINST THEM. (ROMANS 5:13 For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.) ISN'T IT FUNNY THAT WHEN WE ARE TOLD WE CAN'T DO SOMETHING WE WANT TO DO IT THAT MUCH MORE. LOOK WHAT PAUL SAYS IN ROMANS 7:8 "But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead." I DID NOT KNOW WHAT "CONCUPISCENCE" MEANT SO I LOOKED IT UP AND IT SAYS "(strong desire, esp sexual desire) to covet ardently, from cupere to wish, desire.

THAT WAS THE OLD TESTAMENT COVENANT BUT WE NOW HAVE A NEW COVENANT THROUGH JESUS.  WE, WHO HAVE RECEIVED HIM AS OUR SAVIOR, ARE NOT HAVING OUR SINS CHARGED TO US ANY MORE.  WE STILL NEED TO ASK HIM TO FORGIVE US WHEN WE KNOW WE HAVE SINNED SO WE WON'T GIVE SATAN AN INROAD INTO OUR LIVES.  LOOK HOW FAR HE HAS REMOVED OUR SINS FROM US.  "PSALM 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us."

WE SHOULD ALL OBEY THE "TEN" COMMANDMENTS BUT DON'T FORGET THE OTHER TWO COMMANDMENTS.  JESUS TELLS US HIMSELF WHAT THEY ARE IN MARK 12:29-31 "The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:  And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.  And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these."  DO YOU LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR?

GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
