DO YOU BELIEVE THAT EVERYTHING IN THE BIBLE IS TRUE? THERE ARE PEOPLE THAT GO THROUGH THE BIBLE TRYING TO FIND THINGS THEY CAN FIND FAULT WITH. THESE PEOPLE TAKE SCRIPTURES OUT OF CONTEXT AND MAKE THEM FIT THEIR ON PURPOSE . ONE INSTANCE IS LUKE 7:34 WHERE IT SAYS JESUS WAS A GLUTTONOUS MAN AND A WINEBIBBER. (LUKE 7:34 The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!) I LOOKED UP WINEBIBBER IN THE DICTIONARY AND IT MEANS "A tippler; a man given to drinking". I LOOKED UP THE WORD TIPPLER AND IT MEANS "To drink (alcoholic liquor) or engage in such drinking, especially habitually or to excess." DOES THIS SOUND LIKE JESUS? THE PEOPLE I AM TALKING ABOUT SAYS IT DOES. GOD FORGIVE THEM.
WE HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT EVERYTHING IN THE BIBLE IS TRULY STATED BUT EVERYTHING IN THE BIBLE IS NOT STATED TRULY. WHAT WAS STATED ABOUT HIM BEING A GLUTTON AND A DRINKER TO EXCESS WAS NOT TRUE. SEE HOW YOU CAN TAKE THINGS AND MAKE THEM SOUND BAD. WE HAVE TO DO WHAT 2ND TIMOTHY 2:15 SAYS "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." ALSO REMEMBER 2ND TIMOTHY 3:16 WHICH SAYS "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:"
WHAT I CAN'T UNDERSTAND IS THAT THERE IS SO MUCH GOOD IN THE BIBLE AND SOME PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO MAKE SOMETHING BAD OUT OF IT. THIS IS WHY WE HAVE TO STUDY THE WORD OF GOD SO WE CAN CORRECT THESE PEOPLE. WE HAVE TO DO IT IN LOVE THOUGH OR IT WILL DO NO GOOD. THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE IN READING THE BIBLE AND STUDYING IT. JUST REMEMBER WHAT JESUS SAID IN MATTHEW 11:29 WHERE HE SAYS "Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls." GET TO KNOW HIM. YOU WILL LOVE HIS COMPANY.
