"ARE YOU A 'MARY' OR A 'MARTHA'?" BY DAVID MCMILLEN
HAVE YOU EVER READ THE STORY ABOUT JESUS RAISING LAZARUS FROM THE DEAD? IT IS REALLY INTERESTING. DID YOU KNOW THOSE PASSAGES OF SCRIPTURE CONTAIN THE SHORTEST VERSE IN THE BIBLE? IT IS JOHN 11:35 WHICH READS "Jesus wept."
THE INTERESTING THING ABOUT THAT VERSE IS THAT JESUS DID NOT WEEP BECAUSE LAZARUS WAS DEAD BECAUSE HE KNEW HE WAS GOING TO RAISE HIM UP. I BELIEVE HE WAS WEEPING FOR HIS CREATION AND THE TERRIBLE PAIN THAT SIN HAD BROUGHT ON IT. ALL THE SUFFERING THAT PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING WAS NEVER GOD'S INTENTION.
I ALSO BELIEVE HE WEPT BECAUSE OF MARY'S AND MARTHA'S UNBELIEF. THEY, OF ALL PEOPLE, SHOULD HAVE KNOWN WHAT JESUS WAS CAPABLE OF AND STILL LOOK WHAT MARTHA SAID TO HIM, "Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee." JESUS TOLD HER, "Thy brother shall rise again." MARTHA, STILL NOT UNDERSTANDING, SAID "I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day." JESUS FINALLY TOLD HER, "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die." SHE FINALLY BELIEVED HIM AND WENT AWAY TO TELL MARY THAT HE WAS THERE AND WAS CALLING FOR HER.
MARY RAN OUT TO WHERE JESUS MET MARTHA AND FELL ON HER KNEES AND SAID, "Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died." IT WAS WITH HER AS IT WAS WITH MARTHA. THE THING IS, BOTH OF THEM HAD HEARD OF THE MANY MIRACLES JESUS HAD DONE, AND PROBABLY HAD SEEN SOME OF THEM, YET THEY STILL DOUBTED HIM.
WHEN JESUS SAW HER AND ALL THE JEWS AROUND HER WEEPING, THIS IS WHEN HE WEPT. HE FINALLY WENT TO THE GRAVE AND EVEN THEN WHEN HE TOLD THEM TO TAKE AWAY THE STONE, MARTHA SAID "Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days." JESUS ANSWERED HER, "Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?"
WHEN THE GRAVE WAS OPENED, JESUS CRIED OUT IN A LOUD VOICE, "Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave clothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go." DID YOU NOTICE THAT? HE WAS BOUND HAND AND FOOT WHICH MEANT THAT HE COULD NOT HAVE JUST GOTTEN UP AND WALKED TO THE ENTRANCE OF THE GRAVE. WHEN JESUS SAID "COME FORTH", HE REALLY CAME FORTH.
ISN'T IT SAD THAT SOME PEOPLE ARE THE MARYS AND MARTHAS OF THIS DAY AND AGE. THEY STUDY THE BIBLE AND KNOW WHAT ALL JESUS CAN DO, YET THEY DOUBT HIM. THEY PICK AND CHOOSE WHAT THEY WANT TO BELIEVE. WHY CAN'T PEOPLE BELIEVE THAT IF HE CAN DIE ON A CROSS AND TAKE ALL OUR SINS AWAY, HE CAN HEAL US? JESUS MUST WEEP A LOT OVER OUR UNBELIEF AND THAT IS SAD. HE WENT THROUGH ALL THAT HE DID AND TOOK THOSE STRIPES SO WE WOULD NOT HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE PAIN AND SUFFERING THAT HE KNEW WAS ON THIS EARTH BECAUSE OF SATAN. WHEN WE DON'T HAVE FAITH ENOUGH TO TRUST HIM AT HIS WORD, I CAN JUST SEE THE TEARS IN HIS EYES. WOULDN'T IT HURT YOU TO SEE YOUR CHILD OR YOUR PARENTS SUFFER WHEN THEY DIDN'T HAVE TO? THINK ABOUT THIS WHEN YOU ARE IN YOUR PRAYER TIME AND JUST THANK HIM FOR WHAT HE DID AND ASK HIM TO FORGIVE YOU FOR THAT UNBELIEF. HE REALLY LOVES US.
THIS STORY IS FOUND IN THE 11TH CHAPTER OF JOHN AND CHAPTER 12 IS WHERE LAZARUS, MARY AND MARTHA MADE DINNER FOR JESUS. IT IS ALSO AN INTERESTING STORY AND ONE I THINK YOU WILL ENJOY. SOME PEOPLE SAY THAT STUDYING THE BIBLE IS HARD AND BORING BUT IT JUST MIGHT BE THE VERSION OF THE BIBLE YOU ARE USING. IF YOU ARE HAVING TROUBLE, TRY THE AMPLIFIED BIBLE OR THE NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION. THEY EXPLAIN IT A LITTLE MORE IN A LANGUAGE WE CAN UNDERSTAND. DON'T JUST GIVE UP. JESUS DIDN'T GIVE UP ON YOU. HE WANTS TO TALK TO YOU AND HE DOES THAT THROUGH HIS WORD. WON'T YOU FELLOWSHIP WITH HIM TODAY? I KNOW YOU BOTH WILL ENJOY IT.

Interesting read David. Christ cried. Even the son of GOD cries. Yes. Well Mary is really Mariam. I am sure many people around the world would want such a miracle from God. Even the ones that know what Christ can do may not really be living a holy life. For instance I know People following another Christ and no matter what evidence you give them they still believe the lie. They are so brain washed by religion that their faith is faithless. They even doubt the bible. But claim to follow Christ. A fantasy Christ they have been sold on. In modern times with all the information they are still brainwashed. For instance let's say they have a health problem. They may take this pill and that one but never really seek Christs cure. Because they are unaware of the truth and what he really taught. Then I am sure there are those that know but have gotten caught up in the repetitive cycle of color in your world mirage that just let's the rust seep in as they go with the flow. This is life.
All things are possible with GOD. What is possible with man. SIN!! SIN and more sin. Ever hear the phraze.. "clean up your own backyard." This need's to happen with sin and with THINGS. Get rid of the THINGS and plug Gods word into your lives.
How many people go through the motions and forsake Christ as their real friend. I heard about a person who lost everything and the only thing they had left was the word of God and that was sufficient. And in this world may God's Will be done as sin has filled the hearts and minds of people like in the day of Noah.

Faith needs to be faith! And the story of the seeds is a great story. We know yet we forsake Christ. Many associate with Christ but put him last.
I heard a man in a store buying a lottery ticket telling the lady behind the counter of how many millions he is going to win. God's word say FOOL this very night your life may be required of you.
One day Christ Kingdom will finally be in place. The door is narrow. Can a lottery buy your way into heaven? no. But it can buy your way into hell. Most people are on the broad path. FAITH!!! OPEN THE EARS!!!
People are deceived. Once people pass God is in charge of their souls. Not us. Plug into God's word. Doing so means everything.
Lord if you were here this and that would not have happened but we sure love sin. It was only 2000 year ago I told you the way. Which way did you walk.? Away from you lord. I thought there has to be a better way. There is MY NARROW DOOR.
You can't have it both ways. Lest a man is reborn he cannot see heaven. That's why your faith is a serious decision.You can not please God without faith.
You can choose life or death. Spiritual death can occur and hopelessness may lead to a crushed seed. Faith in Christ is RICH in love and lean not on your own understanding. Christ cured a man for the Roman solider whom had faith. Great faith!
Please pray for people being persecuted around the world and the world that is DEEP DEEP in sin. People need to know the gospel. People if someone is preaching the gospel to you those words are everything. Take you 24/7 plugged in devices off and get plugged into God's word. Amen
All we need is Christ.. That's all we need!
We have to have faith but walk as the Apostle did and then when it is used by those whom have it then hopefully it will be used to glorify GOD and not sinful greedy ways.
