The Jews were God's chosen people and therefore, God's representatives on earth. Yet, they lied and condemned an innocent man to death. Pilate could see that their real motivation for wanting Jesus dead was envy. They were doing all their religious works to be seen of men, and were upset that Jesus was getting more recognition than they were. If these Jews would have thought about what type of witness they were giving, even they would have known that their actions were not inspired by God.
We should remember that we are God's witnesses on earth, or as Paul said, "We are epistles... known and read of all men" (2 Cor. 3:2). Judging our actions in the light of, "What kind of witness will this give to others?" will help us discern whether or not we are being led of God.
The chief priests had deceived themselves and other religious people into believing that they were condemning Jesus for godly reasons, but even an ungodly ruler like Pilate could see through their lies. Religious bondage blinds people to the truth even more than sin does.
These rulers wanted to retain their power and authority, so they fought against the power and authority of Jesus. This is still the same today. Men use doctrinal issues to disguise the real issue. The truth is that, "Only by pride cometh contention" (Prov. 13:10). People who love to have the preeminence (3 Jn. 9) are usually the instigators of persecution.

This should be 10 stars. Very well said. And that continues today. We wrestle not against flesh and blood by against spiritual wickedness in high places. And the people who are either blinded or deceived, "BRAINWASHED" by EVIL, falsehoods are supporters of such and one day they will give an account on whatever judgment day GOD has set aside. There will be many from many walks of life, many Countries and many centuries. With all the Colleges and Universities being higher education, STILL so MANY are deceived and brainwashed. Why! because we are accustomed to go with the flow and such a system thrives off the ignorance and ways of the world that ATTRACT people. Gullible people. They appeal to YOUR pride. Vanity WORKS. No wonder GOD HATES pride.
Everything will be full-filled as scripture records. Than one day that TERRIBLE day of the lord will present it's self and then the inhabitants of the earth, rulers will know that the GOD of scripture is REAL. But even in that day people will be deceived by falsehoods. We are in as-sense on BORROWED TIME. And so the ignorant are lost in their PRIDE and in their ROLE PLAYING and they deceive their own hearts.
Lots of us do it to be seen of men. Some of our intentions are not that way but we make an effort. Some people may take it the wrong way because ONLY GOD can weight the heart.

Through the blood at Calgary that Christ shed many now have A DOOR to walk through. Make the right choice and use that NARROW DOOR. The world loves and embraces VANITY. Yet with GOD idol worship is a CRUTCH and puts GOD last. It has MORE implications than we can really know. It puts GOD last and takes away the glory that ONLY he deserves.
People worship the earth, space, and the GOD who created everything is NOT the GOD of this world. William Shakespeare got it right. Actors playing a role. Perhaps that is why the street musicians and the ones that the world rejects Christ embraces. The lame, the broken hear-ted, the homeless, the rejected, etc. He said the least have to be first. Because TRULY in this world that is not the case but with the true living GOD that is exactly the case.
There is GOOD and BAD in many Countries. It's easy to judge but one has to be careful because there are people who may not believe in other Countries that may be wonderful people.
"Jesus was getting more recognition than they were." He was from GOD so what he taught and presented was a shock to them. It captivated the hearts of people because it was REAL and coming from the creator.. as he said he came to glorify and do the WILL of his father.
He was born as YESHUA. He was Jewish and even his name has been not known to everyone. Jewish names have meanings. He is a Jewish messiah. All the authors of scripture were Jewish. The messiah was promised to Israel (The Jewish People). But Anyone can come to him. He said he will in no like way turn anyone away. Christ kept the Sabbath and the Jewish laws although he was against their turning those laws into human understanding instead of Gods true understandings. In vain do they worship me as scriptures records.
He said where two or three are gathered in my name there I am. "I AM" AMEN
