I AM AN 80 YEAR OLD MALE, BORN AGAIN, CHRISTIAN WITH A LOVE FOR JESUS. I DO NOT GET OUT MUCH ANYMORE BUT FIND THAT TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT THE LOVE JESUS HAS FOR THEM IS NOT ONLY WHAT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO DO BUT SOMETHING THAT THE WORLD NEEDS.

"BEING BORN AGAIN" BY DAVID MCMILLEN
CAN YOU IMAGINE WHAT THE JEWS THOUGHT WHEN THEY HEARD THE TERM "BORN AGAIN"? WE CAN SEE THIS IN JOHN 3. JESUS USED THE TERM WHEN HE WAS TALKING WITH NICODEMUS. NICODEMUS WAS A RULER OF THE JEWS AND WANTED TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THIS MAN JESUS SO THE BIBLE SAYS HE CAME TO JESUS BY NIGHT. HE SAID HE KNEW THAT JESUS WAS A TEACHER THAT CAME FROM GOD, OTHERWISE, HOW COULD HE DO THE MIRACLES HE DID. HOWEVER, HE WAS NOT SURE WHAT "BORN AGAIN" MEANT.
IN JOHN 3:3-7 JESUS TELLS HIM. "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again."
THE RELATIONSHIP NICODEMUS HAD WITH GOD WAS ALL ACADEMIC. HE KNEW A LOT ABOUT HIM BUT NOT PERSONALLY. NICODEMUS DIDN'T UNDERSTAND HOW JESUS COULD CALL GOD HIS FATHER SO JESUS GOES ON TO TELL NICODEMUS THAT GOD, HIS FATHER, SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY SON (JOHN 3:16). I WONDER IF NICODEMUS KNEW THAT JESUS WAS THAT SON JESUS WAS TALKING ABOUT, THE BIBLE DOESN'T SAY, BUT JESUS SPENDS A LOT OF TIME WITH HIM.
JESUS GOES ON TO SAY IN " JOHN 3:18-21 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God." IT SEEMED THAT NICODEMUS NEED TO HEAR ALL OF THIS.
THIS IS THE DEPTH THAT JESUS WILL GO TO WHEN WE ARE TRULY SEEKING HIM. EVIDENTLY NICODEMUS WAS DOING JUST THAT. WE SHOULD ALL STRIVE TO HAVE A MORE PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD BECAUSE HE IS OUR FATHER ALSO.. I BELIEVE CHRISTIANITY IS NOT A RELIGION BUT A RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS. WON'T YOU OPEN YOUR BIBLE AND FELLOWSHIP WITH HIM TODAY? HE IS WAITING.
