I AM AN 80 YEAR OLD MALE, BORN AGAIN, CHRISTIAN WITH A LOVE FOR JESUS. I DO NOT GET OUT MUCH ANYMORE BUT FIND THAT TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT THE LOVE JESUS HAS FOR THEM IS NOT ONLY WHAT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO DO BUT SOMETHING THAT THE WORLD NEEDS.

"WATCH YOUR TONGUE" BY DAVID MCMILLEN

HAS ANYONE EVER SAID SOMETHING TO YOU THAT REALLY HURT YOU?  I AM SURE THEY HAVE.  WORDS DO HURT.  THE TONGUE IS A POWERFUL THING WHICH CAN BE USED FOR GOOD OR EVIL.  WHAT WE MUST DO IS TO WATCH WHAT WE SAY AND NEVER REPAY EVIL WITH EVIL.  IF SOMEONE HURTS YOU WITH WORDS, FORGIVE THEM.  IN ROMANS 12:19, PAUL TELLS US "Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord."

THE BIBLE SAYS IN JAMES 3:8 "But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison."  SOME PEOPLE USE THIS AS AN EXCUSE SAYING THAT THEY COULDN'T HELP WHAT THEY SAID.  EVEN THOUGH THE BIBLE ALSO SAYS THAT "THE TONGUE CAN NO MAN TAME", GOD CAN TAME IT. WE JUST HAVE TO GET OUR HEARTS AND MINDS TUNED INTO THE WORD OF GOD AND LET HIM DO THE REST.  READ WHAT IT SAYS IN HEBREWS 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.  I BELIEVE GOD CAN TAKE CARE OF OUR PROBLEMS MUCH BETTER THAN WE CAN AND HIS ACTIONS WILL ALWAYS BE PURE.

USE YOUR TONGUE TO SPEAK WORDS OF PRAISE AND WORSHIP TO JESUS. ONE DAY, EVERY TONGUE WILL HAVE TO DO THIS. PHILIPPINES 2:9-11 TELLS US "Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."  WE SHOULD START DOING THIS NOW.

DON'T SAY THINGS YOU DON'T MEAN.  IT WILL NOT ONLY HURT SOMEONE ELSE BUT IT WILL HURT YOU MORE.  I LEAVE YOU WITH THIS.  JESUS TELLS US IN MATTHEWS 12:36 "But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment."  THIS IS ONE PLACE WHERE THE PHRASE "WATCH YOUR TONGUE" REALLY APPLIES.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
