I AM AN 80 YEAR OLD MALE, BORN AGAIN, CHRISTIAN WITH A LOVE FOR JESUS. I DO NOT GET OUT MUCH ANYMORE BUT FIND THAT TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT THE LOVE JESUS HAS FOR THEM IS NOT ONLY WHAT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO DO BUT SOMETHING THAT THE WORLD NEEDS.

"BE A CHEERFUL GIVER" BY DAVID MCMILLEN
HAVE YOU REALLY STUDIED WHAT PAUL WAS TALKING ABOUT WHEN HE SAID IN PHILIPPIANS 4:19 "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." THIS IS A GREAT PROMISE BUT I THINK A LOT OF PEOPLE TAKE IT THE WRONG WAY. PAUL WAS TALKING TO HIS PHILIPPIAN PARTNERS WHEN HE SAID THIS AND I DON'T BELIEVE IT APPLIES TO EVERYONE. I KNOW THAT GOD WANTS TO SUPPLY THE NEEDS OF ALL HIS CHILDREN BUT IT WON'T WORK WITHOUT US BELIEVING AND GIVING. THE PHILIPPIANS WERE GIVERS AND I THINK THAT WHEN WE FAITHFULLY GIVE AS THEY DID, GOD WILL KEEP THIS PROMISE TO ALL OF US.
I BELIEVE LUKE 6:38 WILL BACK UP WHAT PAUL IS TELLING US. IT SAYS "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again." WE DO HAVE TO BE GIVERS AND WE ALL CAN GIVE SOMETHING. IT CAN BE YOUR TITHES OR JUST A GIFT TO SOMEONE WHO NEEDS HELP. I BELIEVE 2ND CORINTHIANS 9:7 GIVES US A GOOD REASON FOR GIVING WHERE IT SAYS "Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver."
TWO THINGS I WILL LEAVE YOU WITH. IF SOMEONE GIVES YOU HELP, TAKE IT. DON'T THINK IT IS CHARITY BECAUSE THE VERSE ABOVE SAYS "shall men give into your bosom". GOD TOUCHES MEN'S HEARTS TO GIVE AND IF THEY ARE OBEDIENT, DON'T TAKE AWAY THEIR BLESSING. THEY ARE BEING BLESSED AS THEY ARE BLESSING YOU. ALSO, IF GOD HAS TOUCHED YOUR HEART TO HELP SOMEONE, PLEASE BE OBEDIENT AND YOU WILL ALSO BE BLESSED.
