I AM AN 80 YEAR OLD MALE, BORN AGAIN, CHRISTIAN WITH A LOVE FOR JESUS. I DO NOT GET OUT MUCH ANYMORE BUT FIND THAT TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT THE LOVE JESUS HAS FOR THEM IS NOT ONLY WHAT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO DO BUT SOMETHING THAT THE WORLD NEEDS.

HOW MANY TIMES HAVE YOU DONE SOMETHING WRONG (SINNED) AND HOPED NO ONE SAW YOU? I HAVE MANY TIMES, IN MY PAST, AND HAD TO ASKED GOD TO FORGIVE ME. THAT STILL DID NOT MAKE IT OK. WHAT IF A YOUNG CHRISTIAN, WHO POSSIBLY LOOKED UP TO US, SAW US AND IT CAUSED HIM/HER TO QUESTION THEIR OWN BORN AGAIN EXPERIENCE?
THE REASON I MENTION THIS IS BECAUSE OF THE SCRIPTURE MATTHEW 18:1-6 WHERE IT SAYS "At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea." THESE NEW BORN AGAIN CHRISTIANS ARE JUST BABIES AND DON'T NEED TO SEE A SEASONED CHRISTIAN SIN. THEY ARE HIS LITTLE ONES AND I DO NOT WANT TO OFFEND ONE OF THEM.
I HAVE ANOTHER QUESTION FOR YOU. HAVE YOU EVER DONE SOMETHING THAT WAS OK FOR YOU TO DO BUT IF SOMEONE SAW YOU THEY MIGHT GET THE WRONG IDEA. FOR INSTANCE, GOING INTO A BAR TO WITNESS OR HAND OUT TRACTS ABOUT JESUS. IT WAS PERFECTLY OK BUT IF SOMEONE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT YOU WERE DOING......SEE WHAT I MEAN. THE VERSE I JUST MENTIONED COULD APPLY HERE BUT THERE IS ANOTHER VERSE THAT COMES TO MIND AND IT IS 1ST THESSALONIANS 5:22 WHICH SAYS "Abstain from all appearance of evil." I KNOW THAT ABSTAIN MEANS TO STOP BUT ANOTHER DEFINITION IS "To refrain from something by one's own choice". WE DO HAVE A CHOICE IN EVERYTHING WE DO. I WORE A BRACELET FOR A LONG TIME WITH THE INITIALS "WWJD" WHICH MEANT "WHAT WOULD JESUS DO". I BELIEVE IF WE WOULD ASK OURSELVES THAT QUESTION ON EVERYTHING WE DO, WE WOULD BE A MUCH BETTER WITNESS FOR HIM AND OUR LIVES WOULD BE MUCH BETTER. THIS IS WHAT I AM GOING TO TRY TO DO FROM NOW ON, HOW ABOUT YOU?.
