HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHY SOME OF THE JEWS DON'T BELIEVE THAT JESUS IS THE MESSIAH? I HAVE BECAUSE THE OLD TESTAMENT SPEAKS VOLUMES ABOUT HIM. THERE ARE SO MANY PROPHESIES ABOUT JESUS AND THEY STILL WON'T BELIEVE HE IS THE MESSIAH. I BELIEVE IF THEY WOULD JUST READ THE PROPHESIES AND LOOK UP THE FULFILLMENT IN THE NEW TESTAMENT, THEY WOULD UNDERSTAND. I AM AFRAID THEY NEVER READ THE NEW TESTAMENT BECAUSE IT IS ALL ABOUT JESUS.
I HAVE PICKED OUT THREE PROPHESIES FROM THREE OF THE OLD TESTAMENT PROPHETS TO LOOK AT AND THE FULFILLMENT IN THE NEW TESTAMENT. JUST FROM THESE THREE, IT IS PLAIN TO SEE THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT JESUS.
ISAIAH 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
MATTHEW 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
ABOUT 700 YEARS BEFORE JESUS, THE PROPHET MICAH NAMED BETHLEHEM AS THE BIRTH PLACE OF ISRAEL'S MESSIAH. MICAH 5:2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
THE FULFILLMENT OF THIS PROPHECY IS ONE OF THE MOST CELEBRATED FACTS IN HISTORY. MATTHEW 2:1-6 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet, And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.
ZECHARIAH 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
MATTHEW 21:6-9 And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them, And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon. And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way. And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.
FROM THESE IT SEEMS VERY CLEAR THAT JESUS IS THE MESSIAH THAT WAS FORETOLD BY THE PROPHETS BUT SOMEHOW THE JEWS CAN'T SEE IT. WE NEED TO PRAY FOR THEM THAT JESUS WILL OPEN THEIR EYES TO THE TRUTH. THEY ARE HIS CHOSEN PEOPLE AND I KNOW HE WANTS THEM TO BELIEVE IN HIM. PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR THEM.
