I AM AN 80 YEAR OLD MALE, BORN AGAIN, CHRISTIAN WITH A LOVE FOR JESUS. I DO NOT GET OUT MUCH ANYMORE BUT FIND THAT TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT THE LOVE JESUS HAS FOR THEM IS NOT ONLY WHAT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO DO BUT SOMETHING THAT THE WORLD NEEDS.

IF SOMEONE ASKED YOU WHAT THE POWER OF GOD MEAN, WHAT WOULD YOU SAY? I HAVE ASKED THIS QUESTION AND GOT ANSWERS LIKE "HE CAN DO ALL THINGS", "HE IS THE ALMIGHTY GOD" AND "HE IS ALL POWERFUL". BEFORE I DID THIS STUDY, I WOULD HAVE SAID ABOUT THE SAME THING BUT THE BIBLE REALLY HAS THE ANSWER.
PAUL, IN WRITING TO THE CORINTHIANS, PUTS IT THIS WAY IN 1ST CORINTHIANS 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. IN VERSES 23 AND 24, HE PUTS IT THIS WAY, "But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God."
MOST OF US KNOW WHAT IS MEANT BY THE "GOSPEL", WHICH IS THAT JESUS DIED, WAS BURIED AND ROSE ON THE THIRD DAY. IN ROMANS 1:16, PAUL PUTS IT LIKE THIS "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek."
FROM THE BIBLE, IT LOOKS LIKE IT ALL COMES DOWN TO JESUS. HE IS THE POWER OF GOD AND WE GAINED ACCESS TO THIS POWER WHEN WE BECAME BORN AGAIN. WE NEED TO USE THIS POWER TO DO WHAT HE TELLS US. HE EVEN SAYS WE WILL DO GREATER THINGS THAN HIM. LOOK WHAT HE SAYS IN JOHN 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. HE TELLS US IN MARK 16:18 TO "lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."
I THINK THE REASON PEOPLE DON'T LAY HANDS ON THE SICK IS BECAUSE THEY ARE AFRAID THAT NOTHING WILL HAPPEN. WELL, THINKING LIKE THAT, NOTHING WILL HAPPEN. EVEN IF YOU HAVE FAITH TO BELIEVE IT WILL HAPPEN, IF IT DOESN'T, DON'T GET DISCOURAGED. SOMETIMES PEOPLE ENJOY THE ATTENTION THEY GET FROM BEING SICK AND DON'T WANT TO BE HEALED AND JESUS WILL NOT GO AGAINST THEIR WILL. AND, SOMETIMES THE PERSON DOESN'T HAVE FAITH TO BELIEVE THEY WILL BE HEALED. AFTER WE LAY HANDS ON THE SICK, THEN IT IS UP TO JESUS AND THE PERSON BEING HEALED. WE HAVE DONE OUR PART IN OBEYING JESUS. WE JUST HAVE TO DO OUR PART. I AM GOING TO DO MINE, WILL YOU?
