I AM AN 80 YEAR OLD MALE, BORN AGAIN, CHRISTIAN WITH A LOVE FOR JESUS. I DO NOT GET OUT MUCH ANYMORE BUT FIND THAT TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT THE LOVE JESUS HAS FOR THEM IS NOT ONLY WHAT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO DO BUT SOMETHING THAT THE WORLD NEEDS.

"JESUS IS THE ONE" BY DAVID MCMILLEN
DO YOU GET DISCOURAGED ONCE IN A WHILE? WITH THE WORLD THE WAY IT IS, I AM SURE A LOT OF US DO. WHEN WE READ ABOUT SOMEONE IN THE BIBLE GETTING DISCOURAGED, IT LETS US KNOW THAT WE ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES THAT HAS A BAD DAY ONCE IN A WHILE. THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT WE DON'T HAVE TO STAY IN THAT STATE. GOD ALWAYS GIVES US A WAY OUT.
I DON'T BELIEVE ANY OF US HAVE GOTTEN AS DISCOURAGED AS JOHN THE BAPTIST. LET'S LOOK AT HIM FOR A MINUTE. HE GOT SO DISCOURAGED WHEN HE WAS IN PRISON THAT HE ACTUALLY SENT SOME OF HIS FOLLOWERS TO JESUS AND HAD THEM TO ASK JESUS IF HE REALLY WAS THE ONE OR SHOULD THEY EXPECT ANOTHER MESSIAH. BELOW IS THE SCRIPTURE TELLING ALL ABOUT THIS.
LUKE 7:20-22 When the men came to Jesus, they said, “John the Baptist sent us to you to ask, ‘Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?’” At that very time Jesus cured many who had diseases, sicknesses and evil spirits, and gave sight to many who were blind. So he replied to the messengers, “Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor."
JESUS DID NOT TELL THEM THAT HE WAS THE ONE, HE REFERRED JOHN BACK TO THE SCRIPTURE WHERE HE SAYS, IN LUKE 4:18 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted , to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised."
JESUS JUST TOLD THEM TO GO BACK AND TELL JOHN WHAT THEY HAD SEEN AND HEARD BECAUSE RIGHT THEN HE WAS FULFILLING THE SCRIPTURE. THIS WOULD SHOW JOHN THAT JESUS WAS THE ONE. SO, WHEN YOU GET DISCOURAGED, GET INTO THE BIBLE AND ALL DISCOURAGEMENT WILL FADE AWAY. JESUS IS THE ONE AND THE ONLY ONE.
