You may be familiar with Romans 10:14-15, which says:
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
This scripture tells us that the world needs preachers to share God's message of love and grace. While this is absolutely true, one point that needs to be clarified is that language is the vehicle that facilitates the learning process. Teaching is most effective when done in native languages. Thankfully, at Andrew Wommack Ministries, our Discipleship Evangelism Missional Outreach (DEMO) department is dedicated to translating ministry teachings into as many languages as possible.
DEMO has already translated the Discipleship Evangelism (DE) program into thirty-one languages--with more to come! DE is a powerful three-level, 48-lesson teaching program developed by Andrew Wommack and Don Krow--a minister who has worked with Andrew since 1975 and who is the founder of Don Krow Ministries, a teaching ministry that provides free discipleship tools to developing nations. DE is designed to take people beyond conversion, and instead into discipleship to experience a lifelong journey in faith. With its DE translations, DEMO has the potential to reach 90-95 percent of the world's population. Praise God!
One area of the world in which we are seeing amazing results is Uganda, where churches are experiencing awesome growth. Charis graduate, Ricky Burge, serves as our DEMO Africa director, discipling people through the DE program. Under Ricky's leadership, the Karamoja region has seen the growth of over seventy new churches since 2014. Ricky explains, "That (church growth) is a direct result of what discipleship does." As our DEMO program expands, we expect to see similar success in more countries around the world.
Later this year, DEMO Director Mark Rowe hopes to take a small missionsteam to Japan--a country barely touched by the Good News of Jesus Christ. Mark plans to connect with local pastors, missionaries, and evangelists and introduce them to the DE program. To prepare for this visit, our DEMO team has already begun the process of translating the DE program into Japanese.
