I AM AN 80 YEAR OLD MALE, BORN AGAIN, CHRISTIAN WITH A LOVE FOR JESUS. I DO NOT GET OUT MUCH ANYMORE BUT FIND THAT TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT THE LOVE JESUS HAS FOR THEM IS NOT ONLY WHAT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO DO BUT SOMETHING THAT THE WORLD NEEDS.

"THE JOY OF THE LORD IS OUR STRENGTH" BY DAVID MCMILLEN
ARE YOU JOYFUL AND IF NOT, WHY? THERE IS SO MUCH SAID ABOUT JOY IN THE BIBLE. IN GALATIANS 5:22-23 IT SAYS THAT JOY IS ONE OF THE FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT "The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance." IF YOU HAVE BEEN BORN AGAIN THEN YOU HAVE HOLY SPIRIT LIVING INSIDE OF YOU. JOY CAME TO US THROUGH HOLY SPIRIT SO WE KNOW WE HAVE IT. HOWEVER, WE HAVE TO MAKE AN EFFORT IN BEING JOYFUL. WE CAN GET U P EVERY MORNING AND CHOOSE TO BE JOYFUL OR MISERABLE. LIFE IS WHAT WE WANT TO MAKE OF IT AND WHEN WE CHOOSE TO MAKE IT WITH JESUS, THEN WE BENEFIT AND ALL THE PEOPLE AROUND US BENEFITS BECAUSE THEY CAN SEE JESUS IN US.
JESUS TOLD US TO ABIDE IN HIM AND HE WOULD ABIDE IN US THAT OUR JOY MIGHT BE FULL. I WILL PUT IT HERE FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT.
(JOHN 15:7-11 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. )
IF WE ARE NOT JOYFUL, MAYBE WE ARE NOT ABIDING IN HIM AND WE REALLY SHOULD. DO YOU THINK HE DIDN'T KNOW HOW BAD IT WAS GOING TO BE GOING TO THE CROSS? WE KNOW THAT HE KNEW BECAUSE OF WHAT HE SAID IN TALKING TO GOD, "Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done." IT WAS HIS CHOICE TO DO THIS AND HE WAS JOYFUL IN DOING IT. LOOK WHAT IT SAYS IN HEBREWS 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. THAT IS TRUE LOVE AS HE, KNOWING WHAT IT WAS GOING TO BE LIKE, DID IT WITH JOY AS HE ALSO KNEW WHAT IS WAS GOING TO DO FOR US.
I WILL LEAVE YOU WITH THIS. NEHEMIAH WAS TALKING TO THE PEOPLE TO ENCOURAGE THEM AND I BELIEVE THIS VERSE IS JUST AS VALID FOR US TODAY AS IT WAS FOR THEM BACK THEN. LET'S MAKE EVERY DAY A HOLY DAY UNTO THE LORD. NEHEMIAH 8:10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength. WITH GOD'S HELP, WE ALL CAN DO THIS. I AM GOING TO CHOOSE TO BE JOYFUL IN THE LORD BECAUSE I WANT AND NEED HIS STRENGTH. HOW ABOUT YOU?
