I AM AN 80 YEAR OLD MALE, BORN AGAIN, CHRISTIAN WITH A LOVE FOR JESUS. I DO NOT GET OUT MUCH ANYMORE BUT FIND THAT TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT THE LOVE JESUS HAS FOR THEM IS NOT ONLY WHAT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO DO BUT SOMETHING THAT THE WORLD NEEDS.

"ARE YOU PLEASING GOD?" BY DAVID MCMILLEN
ARE YOU PLEASING GOD?
DO YOU KNOW HOW TO PLEASE GOD? SOME MIGHT SAY THAT BEING IN FELLOWSHIP WITH HIM PLEASES HIM AND I AM SURE THEY ARE RIGHT. THEY MIGHT ALSO SAY THAT GOING TO CHURCH AND TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT THE LOVE OF JESUS WOULD ALSO MAKE HIM PLEASED AND, AGAIN, I AM SURE THEY ARE RIGHT. I BELIEVE THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO PLEASE HIM AND WE ALL SHOULD BE STRIVING TO DO IT EVERY DAY.
LET'S LOOK AT WHAT THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT PLEASING HIM. HEBREWS 11:5-6 SAYS "By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." SO IF WITHOUT FAITH IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE HIM, THEN WE KNOW THAT HAVING FAITH IS ONE THING THAT DOES PLEASES HIM.
LET'S LOOK AT FAITH FOR A LITTLE MORE. WE KNOW THAT WE HAVE IT BECAUSE THE BIBLE TELLS US WE DO IN ROMANS 12:3 "For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith." WE ALL HAVE RECEIVED THE SAME AMOUNT, "THE" MEASURE OF FAITH, BUT WE ALL DON'T USE IT THE WAY WE SHOULD AND ALTHOUGH FAITH DOES PLEASE GOD, I THINK THAT NOT USING IT THE WAY WE SHOULD DOES NOT PLEASE HIM.
WHAT ABOUT US PROSPERING? DOES THAT PLEASE GOD? THE BIBLE SAYS IT DOES BUT A LOT OF PEOPLE GET UPSET WHEN THEY HEAR ABOUT PREACHERS MAKING A LOT OF MONEY. LET'S LOOK AT 3RD JOHN 1:2 "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." AND PSALMS 35:27 "Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant."
NOW LET'S LOOK AT PROSPERING A LITTLE MORE. A LOT OF PEOPLE SAY THAT A CHRISTIAN SHOULDN'T PROSPER. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY IF IT PLEASES GOD. I BELIEVE THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE NOT PROSPERING BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOT ASK. JESUS SAYS ASK AND IT SHALL BE GIVEN YOU. (MATTHEW 7:7-8 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." ARE YOU PROSPERING? HAVE YOU ASKED AND ARE YOU GIVING? JESUS TELLS US IN LUKE 6:38 TO "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again." IT IS ALL UP TO US. WHAT WILL YOU DO?
