THE PROMISES OF GOD

I WRITE A LOT ABOUT GOD'S PROMISES BUT HAVE YOU EVER LOOKED THEM UP FOR YOURSELF TO SEE JUST WHAT THEY ARE? IF YOU HAVEN'T, YOU ARE MISSING OUT ON WHAT GOD HAS IN STORE FOR YOU. LOOK WHAT IT SAYS IN 2ND PETER 1:3-4 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. IF WE DON'T KNOW WHAT THESE GREAT AND PRECIOUS PROMISES ARE, HOW CAN WE EXPECT TO ESCAPE THE CORRUPTION. IT SEEMS THAT GOD'S PROMISES AND OUR FAITH NEEDS TO BE CLOSELY ENTWINED IF WE HAVE ANY EXPECTATIONS OF RECEIVING HIS BLESSINGS.

CONTINUING ON WITH THE THOUGHTS IN VERSES 3 AND 4, LOOK WHAT PETER SAYS ABOUT OUR FAITH IN VERSES 5 AND 6 WHERE IT SAYS "And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge. And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity." WE HAVE TO BE DILIGENT IN LIVING A GODLY LIFE. DO YOU WANT TO BE FRUITFUL IN YOUR CHRISTIAN WALK, VERSE 8 SAYS "For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." I WILL SUM IT UP IN VERSE 9 THAT SAYS "But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins."

REMEMBER THAT WE ARE NEW CREATURES IN CHRIST. (2ND CORINTHIANS 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.) HE DID IT ALL FOR US AND WE DIDN'T HAVE TO DO ONE THING EXCEPT HAVE THE FAITH TO BELIEVE THAT HE DIED, WAS BURIED AND ROSE AGAIN AND ACCEPT HIM AS OUR SAVIOR.

LET'S MAKE A PROMISE TO HIM THAT WE WILL START STUDYING HIS WORD. I KNOW THIS IS WHAT HE WANTS ALL OF US TO DO BECAUSE HE TELLS US THIS IN PROVERBS 4:20-22 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. HOW ARE YOU GOING TO KNOW HOW TO LEAD SOMEONE TO JESUS IF WE DON'T KNOW HIS WORD. GET IN HIS WORD TODAY AND GET TO KNOW ALL THAT IT SAYS. YOU WILL BE BLESSED.
