DO YOU REALLY STUDY GOD'S WORD?
PEOPLE HAVE ASKED HOW THEY CAN DISCERN GOOD FROM EVIL WHEN IT IS NOT SO OBVIOUS. IN TALKING TO THEM, I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT SOME OF THEM DIDN'T KNOW WHAT DISCERNMENT MEANS? THE DICTIONARY SAYS IT IS "the quality of being able to grasp and comprehend what is obscure; an act of perceiving something; a power to see what is not evident to the average mind." I BELIEVE SPIRITUAL DISCERNMENT IS THE ABILITY TO SEE THE TRUTH.
SOMETIMES THE TRUTH IS NOT READILY SEEN. WHEN JESUS WAS TEACHING HIS DISCIPLES ABOUT THIS HE SAID, IN MATTHEW 13:11, "Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given." GOD HAS TO SHED LIGHT ON OUR MINDS SO WE CAN UNDERSTAND THE TRUTH BECAUSE SATAN TRIES TO BLIND US TO IT. SEE WHAT 2ND CORINTHIANS 4:4 SAYS "In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them." THIS IS WHY IT IS SO IMPORTANT TO STUDY GOD'S WORD SO WE WON'T BE BLINDED.
SO, IN ANSWER TO THE QUESTION OF HOW CAN SOMEONE DISCERN GOOD FROM EVIL, IT TAKES WISDOM FROM JESUS AND IN 1ST CORINTHIANS 1:30 IT SAYS "But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption." FROM THIS, I TAKE IT THAT IT COMES FROM KNOWING JESUS. HEBREWS 5:14 TELLS US "But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil." GO TO GOD'S WORD AND LEARN OF JESUS AND TAKE HIS WISDOM AND USE IT. 1ST CORINTHIANS 2:16 SAYS WE HAVE "the mind of Christ."
