DON'T USE THE BIBLE IN A NEGATIVE WAY
HAVE YOU EVER RECEIVED ONE OF THOSE EMAILS THAT SAYS "IF YOU ARE NOT ASHAMED OF JESUS, PASS ON THIS EMAIL"? THEY GO SO FAR AS TO QUOTE LUKE 9:26 WHICH SAYS "For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels." I HAVE TO ADMIT, I HAVE PASSED THEM ON BEFORE BUT THEN I THOUGHT, I DON'T HAVE TO PASS ON SOME EMAIL TO SHOW JESUS THAT I AM NOT ASHAMED OF HIM. HE KNOWS I AM NOT AND THAT I LOVE HIM. I TRY TO LIVE MY LIFE EVERY DAY SHOWING HIM.
I WONDER IF THE PERSON THAT STARTS ONE OF THESE EMAILS IS ASHAMED OF JESUS OR IS IT SOMETHING THAT THEY THINK SOUNDS GOOD. NO ONE SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF JESUS BUT SHOULD BE SPREADING HIS GOSPEL AND HIS LOVE TO EVERYONE. IF THEY WANT TO QUOTE A VERSE THAT TAKES THIS ALL THE WAY, THEY SHOULD HAVE LOOKED UP ROMANS 10:8-11 WHICH SAYS "But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed."
LET'S ALL SHOW EVERYONE WE ARE NOT ASHAMED OF HIM BY GOING OUT AND TELLING AS MANY PEOPLE AS WE CAN ABOUT HIS LOVE. YOU JUST MIGHT LEAD SOMEONE TO SALVATION. THAT WOULD BE A GLORIOUS EXPERIENCE.
