I AM AN 80 YEAR OLD MALE, BORN AGAIN, CHRISTIAN WITH A LOVE FOR JESUS. I DO NOT GET OUT MUCH ANYMORE BUT FIND THAT TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT THE LOVE JESUS HAS FOR THEM IS NOT ONLY WHAT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO DO BUT SOMETHING THAT THE WORLD NEEDS.

WHERE IS THE STING OF DEATH?
MATTHEW 27:50-53 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
WHAT I FIND AMAZING IS THAT WITH SUCH A DRAMATIC EVENT, MATTHEW WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO WROTE ABOUT IT. AS YOU KNOW, MOST OF THE GRAVES BACK THEN WERE CAVES WITH LARGE STONES ROLLED IN FROM OF THEM. THE EARTHQUAKE WAS SO GREAT THAT IT MUST HAVE ROLLED AWAY THE STONES OF MANY GRAVES AND SOME OF THE PEOPLE BURIED IN THEM ROSE FROM THE DEAD. CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT THERE WAS SO MUCH POWER AT THE DEATH OF JESUS THAT DEATH HAD NO MORE POWER OVER THESE PEOPLE. (1ST CORINTHIANS 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?)
I HAVE OFTEN WONDERED IF THESE RESURRECTED PEOPLE DIED AGAIN OR WERE CAUGHT UP TO GOD. IF THEY WERE NOT CAUGHT UP TO GOD WHEN JESUS DIED, THEY WOULD HAVE HAD TO DIE AGAIN JUST LIKE LAZARUS, JAIRUS' DAUGHTER AND THE WIDOW'S SON. THE REASON I SAY THIS IS BECAUSE OF WHAT IT SAYS IN 1ST CORINTHIANS 15:20 "But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept." AND ACTS 26:23 "That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles." JESUS WAS NOT THE FIRST PERSON RAISED FROM THE DEAD BUT HE WAS THE FIRST PERSON TO NEVER DIE AGAIN AFTER HIS RESURRECTION. THIS MADE HIM THE "FIRSTFRUITS" OF THEM THAT SLEPT.
CAN YOU IMAGINE THE IMPACT IT MUST HAVE HAD ON THE PEOPLE THAT SAW THESE PEOPLE THAT HAD RISEN FROM THE DEAD? I WONDER IF THEY WENT BACK TO THEIR FAMILIES AND WHAT THEY MUST HAVE TOLD THEM. I JUST FOUND THIS VERY INTERESTING AND HOPE YOU ALL DID ALSO.
WHEN YOU ARE WITNESSING AND HEALING SOMEONE, DO IT WITH BOLDNESS, REMEMBERING THE POWER YOU HAVE THROUGH HOLY SPIRIT. IF HE HAD THE POWER TO RAISE JESUS FROM THE DEAD, WITH ALL THE OPPOSITION HE HAD, I AM SURE HE HAS ALL THE POWER YOU NEED TO WITNESS AND EVEN HEAL SOMEONE. JESUS TOLD US TO HEAL THE SICK AND WHAT A GREAT WITNESS THIS WOULD BE. THE POWER IS THERE FOR US TO USE AND I INTEND TO USE IT WHEREVER I CAN. WHAT ABOUT YOU?
