I AM AN 80 YEAR OLD MALE, BORN AGAIN, CHRISTIAN WITH A LOVE FOR JESUS. I DO NOT GET OUT MUCH ANYMORE BUT FIND THAT TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT THE LOVE JESUS HAS FOR THEM IS NOT ONLY WHAT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO DO BUT SOMETHING THAT THE WORLD NEEDS.

GIVING THANKS
THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE THAT PUT RESTRICTIONS ON WHAT THEY CAN AND CANNOT EAT. WHEN I WAS GROWING UP, I HAD ALWAYS HEARD YOU WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO EAT CERTAIN MEATS BECAUSE THE BIBLE SAID THEY WERE UNCLEAN. I ALSO HEARD YOU WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO EAT MEAT ON FRIDAYS. WHEN I STARTED STUDYING THE BIBLE, I COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING ABOUT THESE EXCEPT IN LEVITICUS. BACK THEN, GOD DID PUT RESTRICTIONS ON WHAT YOU COULD AND COULD NOT EAT BUT THAT WAS UNDER THE OLD COVENANT. WE ARE LIVING UNDER A NEW COVENANT NOW THROUGH JESUS.
DO YOU BLESS YOUR FOOD BEFORE YOU EAT? IF YOU DO THEN EVERYTHING IS OK TO EAT. 1ST TIMOTHY 4:3-7 SAYS "Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained. But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness." FROM THIS IT LOOKS LIKE WE CAN EAT ANYTHING AS LONG AS WE RECEIVE IT WITH THANKSGIVING. WE SHOULD BE THANKFUL FOR ALL BLESSINGS WE RECEIVE FROM OUR LORD WHETHER IT IS FOOD OR SOMETHING ELSE. LET'S ALL REMEMBER TO THANK HIM EVERYDAY.
