STUDY THE WORD OF GOD
I HAVE BEEN ASKED ABOUT THIS AGAIN SO I THOUGHT I WOULD POST THIS AGAIN. HAVE YOU EVER NOTICED WORDS IN THE BIBLE THAT ARE IN ITALICS? THESE WORDS ARE NOT IN THE ORIGINAL MANUSCRIPTS BUT ARE PUT IN BY THE TRANSLATORS IN ORDER TO MAKE THE SENTENCE SOUND RIGHT.
THIS IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW FOR TWO REASONS. I BELIEVE THAT SOMETIMES IT CHANGES THE MEANING OF THE VERSE COMPLETELY. FOR INSTANCE, IN JOHN 12:32, (And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all (men) unto me.) THE WORD "MEN" IS IN ITALICS MEANING IT WAS NOT IN THE ORIGINAL MANUSCRIPTS. I BELIEVE, AND THIS IS JUST WHAT I THINK, THAT WHAT JESUS WAS DRAWING UNTO HIMSELF WAS ALL "SIN", WHICH HE DID BY TAKING ALL THE SINS OF THE WHOLE WORLD ON HIMSELF. 1ST PETER 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
IF YOU LOOK IN THE VERSE BEFORE, (JOHN 12:31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.) HE IS TALKING ABOUT THE JUDGEMENT AND SIN IS WHAT WAS BEING JUDGED. ALL MEN ARE NOT DRAWN UNTO HIM AND I WISH THEY WERE. IT WOULD MAKE GETTING EVERYONE BORN AGAIN SO MUCH EASIER.
NOW GO TO EXODUS 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. AND JOHN 18:6 As soon then as he had said unto them, I am (he), they went backward, and fell to the ground. THE WORD "HE" WAS INSERTED AND REALLY DIDN'T NEED TO BE. HE IS "I AM", THE SAME "I AM" THAT TOLD MOSES WHAT TO TELL HIS PEOPLE. NO WONDER EVERYONE FELL TO THE GROUND. THEY COULD NOT STAND UP UNDER THE POWER OF GOD.
SO, WHEN YOU SEE A WORD OR PHRASE IN ITALICS IN THE BIBLE, READ IT WITHOUT THE WORD OR PHRASE AND SEE IF THAT IS REALLY WHAT IT MEANS. I JUST THOUGHT THIS WAS INTERESTING AND THOUGHT YOU ALL MIGHT THINK SO ALSO. DON'T JUST READ THE BIBLE, STUDY IT. IT HAS SO MUCH TO TELL US.

i’m giving you five stars for pointing that out and blessing you today David. And your first example of the word “men” inserted then that is (1) example where people can take universal salvation and of course that is not true. By the preaching of the word people hear and believe in their heart and can be/are saved.
Second example is excellent as well. I will say this; did you know that the way the Jewish people view the Old Testament as in comparison to Gentiles is quite different in a sense. I find this extremely interesting.
Along the way the gospel has been changed and altered. This is no surprise. A good solid in depth study reveals a lot. I will say it is very odd that the Scriptures of the New Testament went missing. I know we have copies of copies and we have a King James Bible. But it’s a funny thing that some of the Hebrew text and perhaps the Original Greek manuscripts disappeared. I’ve heard of people that destroyed these during the wars but I think there’s a valid reason they went missing. I understand they were old and very dated. That is understandable. But there’s more to it than that. I think it’s a strange thing that we can have an old testament in tact yet something newer should be more intact than the Old Testament. Praise the Lord and may his will be done.
Funny how even the ark of the covenant went missing somehow.
Heaven and earth will pass away but my word will never pass away. In the beginning was the Word and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.

THANKS, WAYNE. I DO WISH PEOPLE WOULD STUDY INSTEAD OF JUST READING GOD'S WORD. IT IS SO INTERESTING AND THERE IS A LOT IN IT THAT PEOPLE ARE MISSING.
