WHEN DID JESUS GET HIS EDUCATION?
HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT ABOUT HOW JESUS KNEW HOW TO READ? HE MUST HAVE HAD SOME FORM OF EDUCATION ALTHOUGH THE BIBLE DOES NOT SPECIFICALLY SAY SO. IN FACT, THERE ARE REFERENCES THAT HE HAD NO EDUCATION. (JOHN 7:15 And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?) THE FIRST PLACE IN THE BIBLE WHERE IT SHOWS JESUS ACTUALLY SPEAKING IS WHEN HE IS 12 YEARS OLD AND HIS PARENTS FIND HIM IN THE TEMPLE WITH THE DOCTORS, BOTH HEARING THEM AND ASKING THEM QUESTIONS. THEY WERE CONCERNED AT NOT BEING ABLE TO FIND HIM AND HE SAID TO THEM IN LUKE 2:49 "How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?"
JESUS LEARNED TO READ BUT IT DOESN'T SAY WHEN AND WHERE. WE KNOW HE COULD READ BECAUSE HE READ THE SCRIPTURE WHEN HE WENT TO THE SYNAGOGUE. (LUKE 4:16-21 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.) THIS WAS DURING HIS MINISTRY ON EARTH SO HE COULD NOT ONLY READ BUT KNEW THE SCRIPTURES AS HE OPENED THE BOOK TO THE RIGHT PLACE.
CAN YOU IMAGINE BEING JESUS' TEACHER? BETTER STILL, CAN YOU IMAGINE HOW JESUS FELT BEING TAUGHT BY ONE OF HIS OWN CREATIONS AND LATER, BEING REJECTED BY HIS OWN PEOPLE? WE GENTILES SHOULD BE GLAD BECAUSE NOW WE HAVE BEEN BROUGHT INTO THE FAMILY OF GOD. (ACTS 13:45 -46 But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming. Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.) PRAISE GOD FOR THAT.
SO, IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW HE WAS TAUGHT OR IF GOD JUST GAVE HIM ALL THE KNOWLEDGE, HE DID WHAT HE CAME TO THIS EARTH TO DO. WITH ALL THE REJECTION, PAIN, AND SUFFERING HE WENT THROUGH, HE STILL LOVED US ENOUGH TO DIE FOR US. THE LEAST WE CAN DO NOW IS TO LIVE FOR HIM.
