WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE ABOUT PRAYER?

DO YOU BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF PRAYER?  IF YOU DO, BE CAREFUL IF YOU ASK SOMEONE TO PRAY FOR YOU.  BE SURE THAT THEY ARE NOT PRAYING IN UNBELIEF OR AGAINST GOD'S WILL. THAT MIGHT SOUND STRANGE BUT THERE ARE PEOPLE THAT SAY THEY WILL PRAY FOR YOU AND THEY ARE NOT EVEN BORN AGAIN.  IN THIS CASE, HOW CAN THEY KNOW GOD'S WILL AS IT TELLS US IN 1ST JOHN 5:14 "And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us."

THEY JUST THINK IT SOUNDS GOOD OR LOOKS GOOD ON FACEBOOK BUT SINCE THEY ARE NOT SAVED, WHAT GOD ARE THEY PRAYING TO.  YOU CANNOT SERVE TWO MASTERS.  JESUS TELL US THIS IN MATTHEW 6:24 WHERE HE SAYS "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."

ONE OF THE BEST WAYS TO GET YOUR PRAYERS ANSWERED IS TO HAVE A PRAYER PARTNER.  JESUS TELL US IN MATTHEW 18-19 "That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven."  THIS CAN BE ONE OF YOUR BORN AGAIN FRIENDS.  IF YOU CAN'T GET TOGETHER, GET THEM ON THE PHONE IF THIS IS WHAT IT TAKES.  THE BEST PERSON WOULD BE YOUR SPOUSE IF YOU ARE MARRIED.

HE GOES ON TO SAY IN VERSE 20 "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."  IF YOU CAN GET TOGETHER AND ALSO AGREE, YOU HAVE FULFILLED BOTH OF THESE SCRIPTURES AND THE FIRST SCRIPTURE SAYS "it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven."  I KNOW THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE THAT THINK PRAYER IS JUST THANKING HIM FOR WHAT HE HAS DONE FOR THEM AND THIS IS GOOD. HOWEVER, IF WE ARE JUST SUPPOSED TO THANK HIM IN PRAYER, WHY WOULD HE HAVE SAID: "as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done"?

LET ME EXPLAIN A LITTLE MORE ON THIS.  ONE PERSON SAID TO ME THAT IF WE ASKED FOR ANYTHING AND WE GET IT, IT WAS GOD'S PLAN FOR US TO GET IT ANYWAY AND IT WAS SILLY FOR US TO THINK HE ANSWERED OUR PRAYER JUST BECAUSE WE ASK FOR IT.  WHAT DO THEY DO WITH THE SCRIPTURE MARK 11:24 WHERE JESUS SAYS "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them."  HE SAYS EVEN THE THINGS WE "DESIRE" NOT JUST THE THINGS WE "NEED". NOW WE DO NEED TO DO THE LAST PART OF THIS SCRIPTURE BUT A LOT OF PEOPLE DON'T DO THIS. THEY JUST CAN'T BELIEVE THEY HAVE RECEIVED SOMETHING THEY DON'T HAVE.

I WILL GIVE YOU MY THOUGHTS ON THIS.  GOD IS A SPIRIT AND THE ANSWER TO YOUR PRAYER IS IN THE SPIRIT REALM AND IT IS UP TO US TO HAVE THE FAITH TO BELIEVE THAT WHAT HE SAYS IS TRUE AND TO USE OUR FAITH TO BRING OUR ANSWER FROM THE SPIRITUAL REALM TO THE NATURAL REALM.  LOOK AT IT AS FAITH BEING OUR BRIDGE INTO THE SPIRITUAL REALM.

ACCORDING TO MARK 11:24, IF YOU CAN'T BELIEVE YOUR PRAYER HAS BEEN ANSWERED THEN YOU WON'T GET WHAT YOU PRAYED FOR.  LOOK WHAT JESUS TELLS US IN MATTHEW 7:7 WHERE HE SAYS "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." HE DOESN'T SAY ASK, AND YOU MIGHT GET WHAT YOU ASK FOR.  HE SAYS IT SHALL BE GIVEN YOU. THAT TO ME IS SAYING THAT HE ANSWERS ALL PRAYERS.

LET'S LOOK AT WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT PRAYER.  DO YOU HAVE FORGIVENESS IN YOUR HEART WHEN YOU PRAY?  JESUS SAYS IN MARK 11:25 "And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any."

DO YOU BELIEVE YOU HAVE WHAT YOU ASK FOR WHEN YOU PRAY?  JESUS SAYS IN MARK 11:24 "when ye pray, believe that ye receive them".

WHAT I AM GETTING AT IS IF WE DON'T KNOW WHAT JESUS SAYS ABOUT PRAYER AND HOW TO PRAY, HOW CAN WE GET OUR ANSWERS.  JESUS WANTS US TO HAVE ALL OF HIS PROMISES AND IF WE DON'T HAVE THEM, IT IS NOT HIS FAULT.  WE HAVE TO DO WHAT JESUS TELLS US IN MATTHEW 11:29 WHERE HE SAYS "learn of me."  START STUDYING TODAY AND BE BLESSED WITH HIS KNOWLEDGE.  IT IS ALL THERE FOR US.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
