IT'S OK TO BE WEALTHY
SOME PEOPLE SAY WE SHOULDN'T ACCUMULATE A LOT OF MONEY BUT DID YOU KNOW THAT GOD GETS PLEASURE OUT OF OUR PROSPERITY? PSALM 35:27 SAYS "Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant." DO YOU MAGNIFY (EXTOL, EXALT, RAISE HIGH, ELEVATE) THE LORD? THIS VERSE SAYS WE SHOULD, AND WHY NOT? LOOK AT ALL THE THINGS HE HAS DONE FOR US AND HAS GIVEN US.
ANOTHER VERSE I LIKE IS 3RD JOHN 1:2 WHICH SAYS "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth". I KNOW THIS IS JOHN WRITING TO THE BELIEVING JEWS, AND I KNOW THAT PAUL IS THE ONE THAT WAS SENT TO THE GENTILES, BUT I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS FOR US GENTILES ALSO. I SAY THIS BECAUSE OF WHAT JESUS SAID IN HIS PRAYER IN JOHN. (JOHN 17:20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word.
JESUS WAS PRAYING FOR HIS DISCIPLES BUT WITH THIS VERSE IT SHOWS HE WAS ALSO PRAYING FOR US. WE DO BELIEVE ON JESUS THROUGH THE WORDS OF HIS DISCIPLES AND PAUL, ESPECIALLY PAUL SINCE HE WROTE MOST OF THE NEW TESTAMENT AND TO THE GENTILES. ANYWAY, JESUS WANTS US TO PROSPER AND IT IS UP TO US TO USE THE POWER OF HOLY SPIRIT TO RECEIVE IT BY FAITH. JUST BELIEVE.

What will it profit you to gain the whole world and to perish. Period.
We shouldn’t wish or should I say desire which is a better word bad health for anyone. But the reality in the world is vague. There are many people dying of diseases and other causes. Nonetheless our faith must be rooted in the biblical Lord Jesus Christ. Sin is a stain that tarnishes the soul.
We can prosper without money. Should you prosper off the gospel. Did the apostles live rich and prosper of the gospel? Did the martyrs of Jesus Christ live rich and prosper of the gospel. What will it profit a man to gain the whole world and to perish. Meaning money from preaching. I'm not talkin about giving to preachers. I'm talking about abusing the Lord.
Now I know that there are honest preachers. But there are preachers or should I say word of faith prosperity preachers that live rich like celebrities being both men and women. Many times the word of God is stretched out of truth. ((John 2:16)) Justin Peters addresses this type of issue.
Abraham might’ve been a rich man. Just what does Rich mean? He had a lot of cattle and land. How could your soul prosper without righteousness or without God. The branch that does not obey the vein is cut off. Pride comes before a fall. The servant is never above his master. Money can’t save your soul. And it definitely will put a stain when it is abused for wrong purpose. Abraham obeyed God when tested.
3 John 1:2 - Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
You can’t bring these material possessions with you. It is not written in vain that the poor will inherit the earth. Poor. But Rich heart. Paul did not die a rich man in fact he was beheaded. Peter was crucified. Christ was crucified. Wasn’t Andrew stoned. Did you read anywhere that the martyrs of Jesus Christ died Rich. Rich at heart. The glory always goes to Christ who is the lamb that takes away the sins of the world.
I will note that Jesus said to Pass no judgement. For instance let’s say somebody was interested in Jesus but was never a true Christian and they passed away and then other Christians said they went to hell. That is speculatively a judgment. Judgement is reserved for God himself. We shouldn’t wish people that they went to hell. But we have a good idea according to the word of God and the things that are written. “I never knew you” as Christ said. Forgive them father for they know not what they do. Show me a man like this. We would hope people get saved. Could you imagine Jesus said there’s not even one. Filthy rags . We can’t earn our salvation but we shouldn’t want too hell for people. But we still have to warn people about that reality. It’s not easy standing for righteousness and I’ve done it. I have experienced it. Those who laugh today cry tomorrow. Rebellion is as witchcraft. Pass no judgment.
For instance there are politicians that take counsel against the Lord and support abortion. Do we really want them to go to hell? No. But that’s where they’re going unless they repent and turn to the Lord. Christ died for the sins of the world. But the preacher still will get up on his pulpit on certain occasions preaching a solid non-water down gospel. I will puke the lukewarm out of my mouth.
To be rich is one thing. If you got there honestly and use it wisely especially for his purposes then that’s a different story. The poor shall inherit the earth. Jesus said repent or you will all likewise perish. He didn’t say repent and here is $1 million. Let me say that again he didn’t say repent and here is $1 million dollars.
It doesn’t take money to be righteous. God searches the heart. He doesn’t search your bank account. He searches the heart and he doesn’t judge a man by his vanity as he judges him by his heart. Men look on the outward appearance but God looks on the inside. Who you are and how you think. Are you righteous. Do you ponder his word day and night. Do you set your mind on doing his will day and night. Do you pray and seek his face. Repent or you will all like Perish.
God is concerned with those things that be of God and with saving souls. Those things that men highly esteem are nothing more than an abomination to God.
Wasn’t it the apostle Paul who said to deny himself is always gain. You can’t serve two masters.
But if a man or woman is rich of material possessions and say they own some big corporation and employ thousands of people that’s a blessing. People have jobs . Depending on what the industry is. Managing money is not easy. Jesus said to give praise to whom praise is due.
do you know how true it is that you can’t serve two masters. It’s like the positive and negative on the battery post. They don’t go together at all. They oppose each other. You will love one and despise the other.
People are broken in spirit and they mourn for their loved ones who are sick and dying as the cause during this pandemic. Christ reached out to Paul on the road to Damascus. He didn’t reach out to him and said here’s $1 million Paul. Paul did the work of the Lord. He was shipwrecked and beaten. I send you out amongst wolves.
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
What are they persecuted for David? Righteousness. For believing in the biblical Lord Jesus Christ. They are Even hated for nationality, race and gender. To stand against abortion and to stand for those things that be of God and not of men. Christ said if they persecuted me they will persecute you. I send you out amongst wolves. As I said before the apostles were persecuted as were countless others. Jesus said the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence. When you live righteous according to the gospel you will be persecuted. The world hates the biblical truth. Hence forth the great Day of the Lord will come one day. Jesus didn’t say in vain to pick up your cross and follow him. To live righteous is a cross. Sanctify them by thy truth. Satin is a liar. He said to preach the good news. Not the multi million dollar news. You can’t serve two masters. The poor will inherit the earth. Blessed are the peacemakers. Blessed are the poor in spirit. He didn’t say blessed is the multibillionaire. The rich young ruler wanted to inherit eternal life. Jesus told him to sell everything and give that money to the poor and he will have treasures in heaven. He didn’t end there. He told him to pick up his cross. To truly live righteous according to God is a cross. Paul said to rebuke with long-suffering. People take the name of God in vain in droves these days. How many people rebuke them. Spiritual wickedness. How many people truly pick up your cross or are so ignorant to do so. The biblical truth is Hated. People want prosperity without submission. Yeah give thanks for whatever you have but do onto others at the same time.
Say that the prosperity preachers can go into hospitals and cure all the sick. What then? Will we have repentance? Would we have people turn to Christ? Maybe some. Of all the hospitals during this pandemic & people dying I haven’t heard in the news many reports of christians or pastors going in these hospitals or old age retirement homes and curing people. Not implying that some did not do so. I am sure people prayed for people and some people may have been cured in someway. Maybe spiritually. Maybe physically. It’s up to God in the end. Our faith must be rooted in the biblical Jesus Christ and not just material prosperity.
We want want want and we want more but we refuse to repent and to live truly righteous as the gospel says to live. We refused to pick up our cross. Or we are so ignorant to do so.
