DON'T BE DECEIVED
DO YOU REALLY KNOW YOUR PASTOR OR SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER? BELIEVE IT OR NOT, A LOT OF CHRISTIANS HAVE NO IDEA HOW THEIR PASTORS OR TEACHERS LIVE THEIR EVERY DAY LIVES. THEY SEE THEM ON SUNDAY MORNING, LISTEN TO THEIR SERMONS OR TEACHINGS, AND COULD CARE LESS WHAT THEY DO THE REST OF THEIR WEEK. THEY HAVE BEEN TO "CHURCH" AND THEN GO OUT AND DO THEIR "THING" THE REST OF THE WEEK. WE NEED TO REALLY KNOW OUR PASTORS AND TEACHERS. WHAT ARE THEIR FRUITS? DO THEY SHOW JESUS IN THEIR EVERYDAY LIVES? MATTHEW 7:20 SAYS "Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them."
THERE ARE DECEIVERS OUT THERE AND WE "MUST" MAKE SURE THAT WHAT THEY ARE PREACHING AND TEACHING LINES UP WITH GOD'S WORD. JESUS GOES ON TO SAY IN MATTHEW 21-23 "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. NOW YOU SEE WHY I SAID WE REALLY NEED TO KNOW OUR PASTORS AND TEACHERS.
I HAVE TO ADD THIS TO MY MESSAGE THIS MORNING. WE DO NEED TO KNOW IF WHAT THEY SAY LINES UP WITH THE BIBLE BUT DON'T JUST TRY TO CATCH THEM IN A MISTAKE. MISTAKES DO HAPPEN AND IF THEY QUOTE SOMETHING AND IT IS THE WRONG VERSE NUMBER OR CHAPTER NUMBER, DON'T DISMISS THE WHOLE MESSAGE JUST BECAUSE OF THAT. WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES. HOWEVER, IF THEY ARE TEACHING SOMETHING DIFFERENT FROM WHAT JESUS IS TEACHING, THEN YOU HAVE A PROBLEM. THIS IS WHY WE NEED TO STUDY GOD'S WORD SO WE WILL KNOW. JUST REMEMBER WHAT MATTHEW 24:24 SAYS AND DON'T BE ONE OF THE ELECT...."For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect." DON'T BE DECEIVED.
