SHOULD YOU USE MIRACLES IN YOUR MINISTRY?
HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHY JESUS' MINISTRY SPREAD SO QUICKLY? YES, HE WAS GOD BUT THE BIBLE SAYS HE PUT AWAY HIS DIVINITY. HE WAS A GOOD TEACHER BUT HE ALSO USED MIRACLES OF HEALING AND CASTING OUT UNCLEAN SPIRITS. MARK 1:25-28 TELLS US THIS AND I QUOTE "And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him. And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him. And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee." ALSO, JOHN 6:2 TELLS US "And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased." HE BECAME VERY POPULAR BECAUSE OF THE MIRACLES HE DID.
JESUS ALSO USED A FEW NON-HEALING MIRACLES, HIS FIRST BEING IN CANA AT THE WEDDING FEAST WHERE HE CHANGED WATER INTO WINE. (JOHN 2:11) THEN THERE WAS THE FEEDING OF THE 5,000 (MATTHEW 14:21) AND THE 4,000 (MATTHEW 15:38). THREE OTHERS WERE THE WALKING OF WATER (MATTHEW 14:25), CALMING THE SEAS (MARK 4:39), AND TRANSLATING THE BOAT IMMEDIATELY TO ITS DESTINATION (JOHN 6:21). THE LAST ONE I CAN FIND IS KILLING THE FIG TREE. (MATTHEW 21;19)
I BRING ALL OF THIS UP BECAUSE I FEEL THAT IF JESUS USED MIRACLES TO SPREAD HIS MESSAGE, WHY SHOULDN'T WE? WE HAVE THE POWER. HE SAID WE WOULD DO GREATER THINGS THAN HE DID (JOHN 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.) I HAVE HEARD A LOT OF PEOPLE SAY WE NEED REVIVAL IN THIS COUNTRY. I GUARANTEE YOU IF WE CHRISTIANS GET OUT AND START HEALING THE SICK AND RAISING THE DEAD, WE WILL HAVE ALL THE REVIVAL WE CAN HANDLE. IT IS UP TO US.
