GOD DOES WHAT HE SAYS HE WILL DO
IN STUDYING THIS MORNING I WAS READING ISAIAH 46:3-4 AND FOUND THEM VERY INTERESTING. YOU KNOW WHAT PAUL SAID IN ROMANS 15:3 ABOUT THE PROMISE JESUS MADE TO US (I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee), WELL, ISAIAH TELLS US THAT JESUS SAID TO THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL, IN ISAIAH 46:3-4, AND I QUOTE "Family of Jacob, listen to me! All you people from Israel who are still alive, listen! I have carried you since you were born; I have taken care of you from your birth. Even when you are old, I will be the same. Even when your hair has turned gray, I will take care of you. I made you and will take care of you. I will carry you and save you.
IF YOU ARE WONDERING WHY I SAID ISAIAH TELLS US THAT "JESUS" SAID, INSTEAD OF GOD, IT IS BECAUSE CHAPTER 45 OF ISAIAH HE IS TALKING ABOUT "THE LORD" AND BECAUSE OF THE LAST LINE OF VERSE 4, "I WILL CARRY YOU AND SAVE YOU". WELL, WHO SAVED US?
YOU MIGHT SAY THAT HE IS TALKING TO THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL AND IT DOESN'T PERTAIN TO US, HOWEVER, I GIVE YOU THIS TO CONSIDER. PETER TELLS US IN ACTS 10:34 THAT "God is no respecter of persons". IF HE MEANT IT FOR THE JEWS, HE MEANS IT FOR US GENTILES. ALSO, JESUS, WHEN HE WAS PRAYING FOR HIS DISCIPLES, MENTIONED US ALSO. HE SAID IN JOHN 17:20 THAT "Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word". DON'T WE BELIEVE BECAUSE OF THEIR WORDS? PAUL WROTE OVER HALF OF THE NEW TESTAMENT AND WE BELIEVE BECAUSE OF THE GOSPEL THAT WAS GIVEN TO HIM.
DID YOU KNOW THE WORD SAYS THAT THE GOSPEL WAS KEPT HID UNTIL JESUS GAVE IT TO PAUL? THE DEATH, BURIAL, AND RESURRECTION OF JESUS WERE NOT MENTIONED IN THE NEW TESTAMENT BEFORE PAUL'S WRITINGS EXCEPT WHEN JESUS TOLD HIS DISCIPLES AND THEY DIDN'T EVEN UNDERSTAND BECAUSE IT WAS HID FROM THEM. SEE WHAT IT SAYS IN LIKE 18:31-34 Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on: And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again. And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken. DON'T YOU THINK THAT IF THIS HAD NOT BEEN HID FROM THEM THAT THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN AT THE TOMB ON THAT THIRD DAY?
NOW YOU CAN SEE WHY I SAID THAT ISAIAH 46:3-4 WAS INTERESTING TO ME. JESUS PROVES TO US ALL THROUGH THE BIBLE THAT HE WILL ALWAYS BE WITH US. THAT IS A REAL COMFORT TO ME AND I HOPE IT IS FOR YOU.
