DO YOU THINK WE NEED GOD'S WORD IN OUR HEARTS TO PROTECT US FROM SICKNESS OR ANYTHING ELSE? SURE WE DO!!! MATTHEW 10:8 SAYS "Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give." JESUS ALSO SAYS IN MATTHEW 16:18 THAT WE "shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." IT DOESN'T SAY YOU CAN'T LAY HANDS ON YOURSELF. IT DOESN'T SAY THAT HE WILL DO IT EITHER. HE TOLD US TO DO IT. HE HAS GIVEN US THAT POWER IF WE WILL JUST USE IT. HOWEVER, HOW CAN WE USE IT IF WE DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT? HOW ELSE CAN WE DEFEAT THE DEVIL? WE HAVE TO USE GOD'S WORD.
LOOK HOW JESUS DID IT WHEN HE WAS TEMPTED BY SATAN. HE CALLED ON GOD'S WORD. THESE, AND MORE, ARE FOUND IN MATTHEW. (It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.') (For it is written: 'He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.') (It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.') (For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.') GOD'S WORD IS POWERFUL. HEBREWS 4:12 SAYS "For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart" I WOULD SAY THAT IS PRETTY POWERFUL.
WE CAN'T USE THIS SWORD UNLESS WE STUDY GOD'S WORD AND KNOW-HOW. HOWEVER, IF YOU ARE IN PERFECT HEALTH, HAVING NO FINANCIAL PROBLEMS AND ARE HAPPY, AND THINGS ARE GOING YOUR WAY, MAYBE YOU DON'T NEED GOD'S WORD. IF THIS IS YOU, I WOULD LOOK AT MYSELF VERY CAREFULLY BECAUSE YOU MIGHT BE GOING THE SAME WAY AS SATAN. HE MIGHT NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING TO GET ANYONE TO COME TO JESUS. HE MIGHT THINK YOU ARE ON HIS SIDE. THE TIDE WILL TURN AND WHEN IT DOES, LOOKOUT.
JESUS WARNS US ABOUT THIS IN JOHN 10:10 WHEN HE SAYS "The thief cometh not, but for to steal , and to kill , and to destroy : I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." YOU CAN BET YOUR LIFE ON THIS BECAUSE IT IS THE WORDS OF JESUS.
JUST REMEMBER WHAT JESUS SAYS IN MATTHEW 6:24 "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." WHO IS YOUR MASTER?
