I AM AN 80 YEAR OLD MALE, BORN AGAIN, CHRISTIAN WITH A LOVE FOR JESUS. I DO NOT GET OUT MUCH ANYMORE BUT FIND THAT TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT THE LOVE JESUS HAS FOR THEM IS NOT ONLY WHAT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO DO BUT SOMETHING THAT THE WORLD NEEDS.

TALK TO YOUR MOUNTAIN
THIS HAS TO BE ONE OF MY FAVORITE MESSAGES AND I TRY TO KEEP PUTTING IT IN SO MANY DIFFERENT WAYS SO EVERYONE CAN UNDERSTAND IT. IT SAYS IN MATTHEW 21:17-22 "And he (JESUS) left them, and went out of the city into Bethany; and he lodged there. Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered. And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away. And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away! Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." JESUS IS TRYING TO SHOW US THAT OUR WORDS HAVE POWER WHEN USED THE RIGHT WAY.
DO YOU THINK IT IS STRANGE TO TALK TO YOUR PROBLEMS? JESUS TALKED TO THE FIG TREE AND LOOK WHAT HAPPENED TO IT. THIS WAS WHEN HE WAS RETURNING TO JERUSALEM FROM BETHANY. HE HAD COME TO JERUSALEM FOR THE FEAST AND FOUND THE JEWS SELLING LIVESTOCK IN THE TEMPLE. HE DROVE THEM OUT AND WENT TO BETHANY FOR THE NIGHT. THE NEXT MORNING, WHEN HE SAW THE FIG TREE AND HE WAS HUNGRY. HE KNEW THAT WHEN FIG TREES HAVE LEAVES, THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO HAVE FIGS. HOWEVER, THIS ONE DID NOT AND WAS CORRUPT SO JESUS GOT RID OF THE CORRUPTION...NAMELY, THE FIG TREE.
SO, IF JESUS CAN TALK TO A FIG TREE, WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM WITH TALKING TO YOUR "MOUNTAIN"? YOUR "MOUNTAIN" COULD BE YOUR HEALTH, FINANCIAL PROBLEMS, OR ANYTHING BOTHERING YOU. HE PLAINLY TELLS US TO "SAY" TO OUR "MOUNTAIN". TALK TO THOSE PROBLEMS AND TELL THEM TO LEAVE YOU IN THE NAME OF JESUS. THEY HAVE NO POWER OVER YOU UNLESS YOU LET THEM. IF WE DIDN'T HAVE THAT POWER, WHY WOULD JESUS EVEN TELL US "IT SHALL BE DONE"?
IF YOU ARE STILL CONCERNED ABOUT TALKING TO YOUR PROBLEMS, I WILL GIVE YOU ANOTHER SCRIPTURE THAT MAKES IT PLAIN WHAT JESUS WILL DO IN ANY CASE. HE SAYS IN JOHN 14:13-14 "And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it." NOTICE THAT HE SAYS IT TWICE, ONE AFTER THE OTHER. HE REALLY MEANS IT. JUST HAVE FAITH AND BELIEVE IT AND YOU WILL RECEIVE IT. THAT IS WHAT JESUS IS SAYING.
