OUR SINS AND SICKNESSES ARE NO MORE
HAVE YOU EVER REALLY THOUGHT ABOUT WHAT JESUS WENT THROUGH ON THE DAY OF HIS CRUCIFIXION? LET'S JUST LOOK AT A FEW THINGS. HE KNEW IT WAS GOING TO BE BAD. LOOK AT WHAT HE SAYS IN MATTHEW 26, THE THREE TIMES HE PRAYED.
VERSE 39 "O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt."
VERSE 42 "He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done."
VERSE 44 "And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words."
ALTHOUGH HE PRAYED THAT GOD WOULD LET IT PASS FROM HIM, HE KNEW HE WOULD HAVE TO GO THROUGH WITH IT TO REDEEM US AND PRAISE GOD HE DID AND THANK YOU JESUS FOR DOING IT FOR US. AMEN.
WHEN WE THANK HIM FOR OUR SALVATION, WE USUALLY DON'T REALLY THINK OF WHAT IT WAS ALL ABOUT. 1ST PETER 2:24 SAYS " Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed." (THIS IS JUST A SIDE NOTE. WHEN IT TALKS ABOUT HIS BODY ON THE TREE, READ GALATIANS 3:13 WHICH SAYS "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:)
WHAT DOES IT MEAN HE BORE OUR SINS IN HIS OWN BODY. HE BECAME SIN FOR THE WHOLE WORLD. HE TOOK THE SINS OF THE WHOLE HUMAN RACE, FOR ALL TIMES, INTO HIS OWN BODY. LOOK WHAT ISAIAH PROPHESIED IN CHAPTER 52:14 "His visage was so marred more than any man, and His form more than the sons of men." JESUS' SINLESS BODY WAS CORRUPTED WITH SIN AND ALL OF ITS RESULTS, SICKNESS, DISEASE, AGE, ETC. NO WONDER HE ASKS GOD TO TAKE IT FROM HIM.
DID YOU NOTICE THAT 1ST PETER 2:24 PUTS HEALING INTO THE PAST TENSE? IT SAYS "by whose stripes ye were healed." HE HAS DONE HIS PART AND NOW IT IS UP TO US. HE HAS PROVIDED OUR HEALING AND WE HAVE TO EXERCISE OUR AUTHORITY AND COMMAND IT TO BE MANIFESTED IN OUR BODIES. I AM GOING TO USE HIS POWER IN MY LIFE, HOW ABOUT YOU?
WE ACCEPT THE FACT THAT OUR SINS WERE INCLUDED IN THE ATONEMENT SO WHY NOT OUR SICKNESSES. JESUS DID IT ALL SO WE WON'T HAVE TO GO THROUGH ANY OF IT. YOU HAVE ACCEPTED HIS FORGIVENESS, NOW HAVE FAITH TO BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE HEALED AND ACCEPT YOUR HEALING. JESUS SAID IT, NOT ME. WON'T YOU BELIEVE HIM TODAY?
